Ann Blyth - here making her screen debut - would reteam with Donald O'Connor for The Buster Keaton Story (1957), which was almost Blyth's cinematic swansong, her only subsequent movie being The Helen Morgan Story (1957). In the interim Blyth and O'Connor would headline The Merry Monahans (1944) and be featured in Bowery to Broadway (1944), which like ''Chip Off the Old Block'' were directed by Charles Lamont.
