  Maruju - the transportation magnate : Well. It's all for the good of the village. To lead the way for the cultural growth of the village - how should I put it - we must present first-class art, or the village will not progress. In other words, we'll fall behind the times. That's my belief.

  Shoichi Aoyama - Kin's father : Stop it! Enough of your highfalutin' nonsense! I'm Kin's father, so, I know what's going on. She always had the poorest grades in school. She was snot-nosed until she was 18. There's no way her dance is some respectable art. Everybody is just thinking it would be funny to see her naked.

• The principal : Art is important. Culture is the foundation of Japan.

  Shoichi Aoyama - Kin's father : Then Kin has something to do with this "culture"?

  The principal : That's right. She's helping build up our culture. We've produced a famous artist from this provincial place, our own Mount Asama must be proud of her too.

• The principal : I'm a supporter of artists. We must support the arts for the sake of the culture of Japan.
