- High-school girl from a wealthy family falls for a fellow student from a poor family. Both families disapprove; unable to stand the pressure, the couple quit school and flee to Mexico.
- Two high-school seniors from different social standings have a date, and when the girl resists the boy's romantic advances, he begins to think of her as someone special and thinks they should get married immediately. Both sets of parents object and urge patience, but when the girl is told she is to take a long summer vacation with her parents, the boy talks her into going over the border to Mexico and getting married. The boy's father is so upset that he comes to blows with his son. As they spend time together, Jerry and Emily discover that they have fallen in love with each other. Wanting to be together, they decide that they would like to get married as soon as possible. Their decision doesn't sit well with either set of parents, who react differently to the news and in how they deal with their offspring.
