  • [last lines]

Christ : All authority has been given to me in heaven and earth. Go, therefore. And make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And behold. I am with you always even unto the end of the world.

  • Christ : Many are called, but few are chosen.

  • Christ : Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven? Thou shalt be brought down to hell!

  • Christ : Behold, I send you forth as sheep among wolves. Therefore, be as wise as serpents, and yet as innocent as doves.

  • Christ : The harvest is plentiful enough, but the laborers are few. You must ask the Lord, to whom the harvest belongs, to send laborers out for the harvest. Peter, Andrew, James, John, Philip, Thomas, Simon, Bartholomew, Thaddeus, James, son of Alphaeus, Matthew, Judas Iscariot. You shall be the laborers for the harvesting.

  • Christ : Man cannot live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

  • Christ : Away with thee, Satan. For it is written, "Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve."

  • Christ : Peter. Andrew. Come and follow me, and I will make you into fishers of men.

  • Christ : Blessed are the poor in spirit, the kingdom of heaven is theirs. Blessed are those who mourn, they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful, they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the clean of heart, they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those persecuted for righteousness' sake, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs. Blessed are you when men mock you and persecute you, and falsely speak all manner of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven.

  • Christ : Do unto the men all that you would have them do to you.

  • Christ : And do not fear those who kill the body, but have no no means of killing the soul. Fear Him, who has the power to ruin body and soul in hell.

  • Christ : Do not think that I came to destroy the law, or the prophets. I have not come to abolish, but to fulfill.

  • Christ : You will be hated by all men for my name's sake.

  • Christ : Are not sparrows sold two for a penny? Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father's will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear, therefore. You are more value than many sparrows.

  • Christ : I have come to set man at variance with his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter-in-law with her mother-in-law. A man's enemies will be the people of his own house. He who loves his father and mother more than Me, that loves his son or daughter more than Me, is not worthy of Me.

  • Christ : Do not imagine that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I came not to send peace, but a sword.

  • Christ : You are the salt of the earth. If salt loses its taste, what is there left to give taste to it? It is then good for nothing, but to be thrown out and trampled upon by men.

  • Christ : He who secures his own life will lose it. It is the man who loses his life for my sake that will secure it.

  • Christ : And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do, who think to make themselves heard by their eloquence. Therefore, do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. In this manner, therefore, pray. Our father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. They kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

  • Christ : No man can serve two masters. For either he will hate the one, and love the other, or he will devote himself to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

  • Christ : When thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth, that your charitable deed may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.

  • Christ : You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket. It is put on a lamp stand to give light to all the people of the house.

  • Christ : I say to you then, do not fret over your life, and how to support it with food and drink. Or over your body, and how to keep it clothed. Is not life itself a greater gift than food? The body more than clothing? Look at the birds in the air. They never sow or reap or gather grain into barns. Yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you, by worrying, can add a single hour to his life? And why do you worry about clothing? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not toil of spin, and yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O men of little faith? Do not fret then, asking what are we to eat. Or what are we to drink. Or how shall we find clothing. For the Gentiles strive after all these things. For your Heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be yours without the asking.

  • Christ : Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged. And with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why beholdest thou the speck that is in thy brother's eye, and are not aware of the beam which is in your own?

  • Christ : You have heard that it was said, "Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth." But I say unto you, that you resist not evil. Whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.

  • Christ : You have heard that it was said, "Love thy neighbor and hate thine enemy." But I say unto you. Love your enemies, pray for those who persecute and insult you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.

  • Christ : Do not fret over tomorrow. Leave tomorrow to fret over its own needs.

  • Christ : Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and thieves do not break in and steal.

  • Christ : Who is the mother? Who are my brethren? Behold! My mother and my brethren! For whoever shall do the will of my Father in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.

  • Christ : I say unto you, men can be forgiven any sin and blasphemy. But, blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven.

  • Christ : Enter by the narrow gate. It is a broad gate and a wide road that leads you to perdition, and those who go in that way are many. But how small is the gate, how narrow the road that leads on to life. And how few there are to find it.

  • Christ : When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, "I will return into my house from whence I came out." And when he comes, he findeth it empty, swept, and put in order. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there. So that the last state of that man is worse than the first. So it shall fare with this wicked generation.

  • Christ : Listen, you that have ears to hear with. As for this generation, to what shall I compare it? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling to their companions, "You would not dance when we piped to you. We mourned to you, and you did not lament." When John came, he would neither eat nor drink, and they say of him that he is possessed. The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, "Behold. A glutton and a drunkard. A friend of publicans and sinners." It is by her own children that wisdom is vindicated. Woe to thee, cities in which I have done my miracles, and you have not repented!

  • Christ : Wicked and unfaithful generation. It seeks a sign.

  • Christ : A prophet is not without honor, save in his own country, in his own house.

  • Christ : He who is not with me is against me.

  • Christ : Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened. I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me. I am gentle and humble of heart, and you shall find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

  • Christ : Blessed is he who does not lose confidence in me.

  • Christ : Why callest thou me good? No one is good but One. If thou has a mind to enter into life, keep the commandments.

  • Christ : If thou wilt be perfect, go. Sell that thou hast and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven. Then come back and follow me.

  • Christ : Suffer the little children, and forbid them not to come to me. For of such is the kingdom of heaven.

  • Christ : Verily, I say unto you, that a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And once again, I tell you. It is easier for a camel to pass through a needle's eye than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.

  • Christ : Do thou follow me, and leave the dead to bury their dead.

  • Christ : If thy hand or foot offend thee, cut it off and cast is away from thee. Better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, than to have two hands and two feet to be cast into the everlasting fire.

  • Christ : The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests. But the Son of Man hath nowhere to lay his head.

  • Christ : If any man has a mind to come my way, let him renounce himself, and take up his cross and follow me.

  • Christ : If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, doth he not leave the 99 on the mountains and seeketh that which is gone astray? And if he should find it, I say unto you. He rejoiceth more of that sheep, than over the 99 which went not astray. So too, it is not the will of your Father that one of these little ones should be lost.

  • Christ : I say unto you. Unless you are converted and become as little children, you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as a child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one such child in my name receiveth me. But who so shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it were better for him if a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

  • Christ : You pay tithe of mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters. Justice, mercy, and sincerity. These you ought to have done, without leaving the other undone.

  • Christ : Woe upon you, blind leaders!

  • Christ : God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

  • Christ : Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!

  • Christ : Take, eat. This is my body. Drink from it, all of you. For this is my blood, my blood of the New Testament shed for many for the remission of sins.

  • Christ : Why do you vex the woman? She did well to treat me so. For you have the poor with you aways. But me, you do not have always.

  • Christ : You are not to claim the title of lords. For One is your Teacher, and you are all brethren. And call no man on earth your father. You have but one father, and he is in heaven. Nor are you to be called teachers. You have but one teacher, Christ. The greatest among you shall be your servant. The man who exults himself will be humbled, and the man who humbles himself will be exalted.

  • Christ : Serpents! Brood of vipers! How can you escape the damnation of hell?

  • Christ : "Thou shalt love the Lord they God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul and with all they mind." That is the greatest and first commandment. And the second is like unto it, "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself."

  • Christ : You cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but within, they are full of extortion and excess. Blind Pharisee! First cleanse the inside of the cup, that the outside may be clean also.

  • Christ : Put thy sword in its place! For all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

  • Christ : My God, why hast thou forsaken me?

  • Christ : My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass me by. Nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

  • Christ : My Father. If this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

  • Christ : So, then. Had you no strength then to watch with me even for an hour? Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
