The film was not intended to be exclusively confined to TV broadcasts. During the time of production, the Mayles brothers where trying to transition away from TV broadcasts and get their films in theaters with a traditional theatrical release. Similar to what happened with their first film about Joseph Levine, it appears that the subjects of this film only granted them TV broadcast rights.
