Zack Snyder’s DC tenure is over, as it seems, but he is yet to move on from the glorious legacy he had forged in the DC universe. The director has somewhat given the studio an identity while creating his own universe as we know it as Snyderverse. Currently, Snyder is working with Netflix, but he would go back to DC in a heartbeat for one movie.

Right now, Snyder has been in a huge conflict with critics as his Rebel Moon franchise has been a critical bomb. Also, a Norse mythology-inspired animated series Twilight of the Gods from the director at Netflix recently got the first image, which revealed that he will be with Netflix for quite a while.

The longevity of Dolly Parton’s career relies both on her music and her personality. She has written countless beloved songs, but she also draws people to her with her warmth and genuineness. She said she has always been a highly positive person, a quality that has a great deal to do with her faith and spirituality.
Dolly Parton said she is a highly positive person
Parton grew up in a religious household, an upbringing that shaped her into the person she is today. Still, she said that many of the positive qualities faith instills in people were innate in her.
“People are teachin’ positive thinking and the magic of believing, but somebody had to feel and know that sort of thing naturally in order to start the program,” she said in the book Dolly by Alanna Nash. “I just happen to be one of those people born with that gift of believing,...

Eminem has announced his new album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace), which will be released this summer.
A trailer for the album was revealed Thursday evening during the NFL Draft. Eminem himself appeared at the draft alongside past and present members of his hometown Detroit Lions.
In the trailer, a true crime reporter discusses the death of Eminem’s longtime alter ego, Slim Shady. “Through his complex and oft-criticized, tongue-twisting rhymes, the blonde anti-hero known as Slim Shady has had no shortage of enemies,” he says.
The clip gives way to Eminem’s longtime collaborator, 50 Cent, who says, “He’s not a friend, he’s a psychopath.” The reporter adds, “The same rude lyrics and controversial antics may have ultimately led to his demise. Join me as we recreate the events that led to the murder of Slim Shady.”

Very few filmmakers have achieved what Quentin Tarantino has in his years in the film industry. Despite his films often igniting controversies, the filmmaker and his unique works have always remained on top of Hollywood. The man knows how to push boundaries to the perfect limits to give cinema fanatics something raw every time and Pulp Fiction was no different.
Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction
Whether it was the use of violence or the taboo topic of drugs, Pulp Fiction was not without controversy. Still, the film made waves at the box office and found a place in the audience’s hearts, establishing itself as a classic. Even legendary actor Bruce Willis couldn’t help but fall head over heels for the script as he tried everything in his power to convince Quentin Tarantino to make him a part of the film.

Part of why Michael Jackson‘s “Man in the Mirror” is so powerful is that the King of Pop had an incredible singing voice. Despite that, he was trying to sound like another 1980s singer. That singer revealed what she thought when she learned Jackson was trying so hard to sound like her.
The writer of Michael Jackson’s ‘Man in the Mirror’ tells her story
Siedah Garrett co-wrote “Man in the Mirror,” which might be Jackson’s most famous ballad. During an interview with Blue Railroad, Garrett said that Jackson wanted to sound like Garrett when he recorded the song. “That was such a high compliment,” Garrett said. “We’d finished the part we had to fix on the duet so I was getting ready to leave. I was packing up and he said, ‘Where you goin?’ I said, ‘Aren’t we done? Isn’t this history, dude?’

Michael Jackson‘s “Man in the Mirror” is the rare pop song with a great message — a message Jesus Christ might have liked. In fact, the song seems like a paraphrase of one of the most famous passages from the gospels. Here’s a look at the spiritual dimensions of one of Jackson’s best ballads.
Michael Jackson’s ‘Man in the Mirror’ is like the Sermon on the Mount
Some of Jesus Christ’s most famous teachings are in his Sermon on the Mount. Some of these statements are certainly challenging! “Do not judge, or you too will be judged,” Jesus says in Matthew 7. “For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?...

Having grown up in a religious family, Christian movie night was something that happened a lot more often than I care to admit. However, back when I was a teenager, my parents showed up one night with an unusually cool-looking DVD of a movie that had been recommended to them by a church leader. Curious to see what new kind of evangelical propaganda my parents had rented this time, I proceeded to watch the film with them expecting a heavy-handed snoozefest.
To my surprise, I was a few minutes in when Denzel Washington proceeded to dismember a band of cannibal raiders when I realized that this was in fact a real movie. My mom was horrified by the flick’s extreme violence and dark subject matter, but I instantly became a fan of the Hughes Brothers’ faith-based 2010 thriller, The Book of Eli. But even as she turns to the hard sciences to unlock the mystery of her family’s loss, she still finds herself hungering for facets of her childhood faith and grappling with the evangelical church in which she was raised, whose promise of salvation remains as tantalizing as it is elusive.

It’s safe to say at this point that the most well-known role of actor Samuel L. Jackson’s long and storied career is as Nick Fury in the MCU. But while that will likely remain his most recognizable character of all time, Jackson credits his leading role in Quentin Tarantino’s 1994 feature Pulp Fiction as the one that proved the biggest game-changer for his career.
Cinephiles are already aware of the lasting effect Pulp Fiction has had on pop culture and filmmaking itself. The film was only the second full-length feature Tarantino had ever made and is widely considered his best work to date. A twisting tale that deftly weaves together violence and humor, Pulp Fiction traces the journey of several characters whose lives intersect in strange and unexpected ways across Los Angeles.

David Dastmalchian may have played his part in Marvel, DC, and everything in between, but it is his latest horror flick – Late Night With the Devil – that has scratched an old itch concerning the ballooning budget of the Cbm industry. The character actor, who has dipped his toes in numerous creative pools, has finally discovered a way for comic book films and television adaptations to retract their claws from sticking too far down Hollywood’s deep pockets.

This article contains massive spoilers for "Abigail."
Dancing ballet en Pointe is arguably one of the hardest styles of dance to perfect. It takes years of training and rigorous dedication to master the move, and even still, without the support of pointe shoes, the body alone is not enough to withstand the pressure of the weight of a full human on such a small surface area. Ballet en Pointe can be hell on the body — especially the feet — but when executed properly, it looks absolutely effortless. In "Abigail," the incredible new horror film from the creative collective known as Radio Silence, a group of criminals are tasked with kidnapping a small girl named Abigail and holding her for ransom only to discover that they've been set up, and Abigail is a vampire who has locked them in her mansion of horrors to "play with her food" before devouring them all.

Minecraft, one of the most popular games ever, has a relatively chill community, which is only natural considering the nature of the game—or so it was assumed, until a recent Reddit post came up, complaining about the tryhard nature of some players.

While Christopher Nolan recently directly explored the creation of the atomic bomb, a long-lost 1961 film explores the landscape directly after the dropping of the bomb in uniquely expressionistic fashion, set against the racial politics of the decade. Helmed by theater director Peter Kass and shot by radical visualist Ed Emshwiller, it’s now been restored in 4K by UCLA Film & Television Archive and Lightbox Film Center, University of the Arts at Illuminate Hollywood laboratory, in collaboration with Corpus Fluxus and Audio Mechanics from the 35mm picture, the soundtrack negative and the original 1⁄4” stereo master recording of Lejaren Hiller’s score. Ahead of a May 10 release at NYC’s Film at Lincoln Center and May 12 at LA’s American Cinematheque from Arbelos, the new trailer has now arrived.

To understand "Left Behind," one must understand a version of Christianity not widely practiced by many people outside certain pockets of the United States. In some American Evangelical churches, they preach of the coming Rapture, when all of the Christians on Earth -- including the dead ones -- will be bodily scooped up by God and transported into Heaven. The idea of a Rapture is taken from an interpretation from the Book of Thessalonians which didn't enter into the Christian lexicon until about the 1830s, making it a very recent development. When Evangelical churches began to become popular in the United States in the 1950s, a stripe of fundamentalist theology began embracing the Rapture as a prophecy that was almost immediately nigh.
On December 31, 1995, Baptist minister Jim Lahaye and author Jerry B. Jenkins published the Rapture-themed book "Left Behind: A Novel of the Earth's Last Days" to much ballyhoo. "Left Behind...

The film was inspired by the Bible and had the actors playing various characters and elements mentioned in it, and Lawrence was the one who had to do most of the heavy lifting. One scene proved to be too much for the actress, and she decided that she would never return to that character ever again.

Will Trent's cast shine in family and group scenes. They provide entertainment and fun and have delved into numerous backstories.
It's always a treat when the Gbi and the Apd solve cases together. Both divisions teamed up on Will Trent Season 2 Episode 6 to investigate Judge Ringgold's murder.
Elsewhere, Will learned how to balance his career with family when he met his long-lost uncle, Antonio Miranda.
For so long, Will's career at the Gbi has been his entire life. It's the first way he identifies as a Gbi Special Agent. When he met his Uncle Antonio, things changed.
It was unbelievable how similar they were. Antonio brought his dog along for their first meeting, and he was overwhelmed by how much Will reminded him of Lucy.

If there were office pools for potential remakes of Hollywood films, it’s unlikely that Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead would have been high on anyone’s lists. After all, this 1991 black comedy starring Christina Applegate was hardly a critical or box-office sensation, and its reputation hasn’t exactly improved with time. On the other hand, it was a nearly ubiquitous presence on HBO for many years, and you couldn’t walk into a Blockbuster without seeing promotional materials for it prominently displayed. So the new version featuring a mostly Black cast also has its share of nostalgia value, which it smartly acknowledges via some callbacks to the original.
Otherwise, this version directed by Wade Allain-Marcus, which includes Tyra Banks among its executive producers (the actress/model was also originally going to appear in it), doesn’t do much to enhance the underwhelming storyline. It hews fairly close to the original,...

Jonathan Majors was sentenced Monday to a 52-week domestic-abuse prevention program after being convicted in December of recklessly assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari.
The former Marvel actor was solemn during proceedings, declining to make a statement. Judge Michael Gaffey noted that “jail is not necessary” for the misdemeanor domestic violence offense, but said Majors is expected to complete the intensive course in person. He is also barred from owning or applying for a license to obtain a firearm.
Jabbari was granted a full order of protection against Majors.

Jonathan Majors was sentenced to a 52-week in-person domestic violence intervention program after being convicted of reckless assault in the third degree and harassment in December.
The charges, which are a misdemeanor and a violation, carried a sentence of up to one year in prison. Prosecutors asked for a sentence of domestic violence programming, with a six-month jail alternative if Majors failed to complete programming, as well as a full order of protection for his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari. Majors received time served for the harassment violation.
The 52-week sentencing is due to take place in person in Los Angeles and the full order of protection was granted. Majors must continue with mental health counseling and therapy and provide the court with updates on treatment, with his first compliance date on Sept. 13. If he is not compliant, judge Michael Gaffey said Majors could face up to 364 days in jail on the misdemeanor.

Over three months after being convicted of reckless assault and harassment, Jonathan Majors was sentenced this morning by a New York judge to participate a domestic violence treatment program. The one-year “in person batterers” intervention program will be in LA, where Majors is based.
Present in Judge Michael Gaffey’s Manhattan courtroom Monday, Majors could have faced up to a year of jail time for his conviction on December 18 on two misdemeanor counts of reckless assault and harassment against Grace Jabbari. After a three-week trial late last year and several days of deliberations, the one-time Marvel actor was convicted by the jury of three men and three women.

Andor was such an unexpected, soaring success that we're surprised more of the team behind the series hasn't been snapped up quickly to work on other projects at Lucasfilm. Well, now one of them has – Beau Willimon, who was a core part of Tony Gilroy's writing team (he scripted the superb mini-arc set in the Narkina 5 prison complex), is now aboard to co-write big screen effort Star Wars: Dawn Of The Jedi with director James Mangold.
Mangold – who previously directed Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny for Lucasfilm – has been working on the script but also turning his attention to production on his Bob Dylan biodrama A Complete Unknown. So it makes sense him adding a co-writer to work on the Star Wars project currently known as Dawn Of The Jedi, which was announced last year at Star Wars Celebration in London.

In Denis Villeneuve's 2021 sci-fi epic "Dune: Part One," Jason Momoa plays Duncan Idaho, a Gonaz Swordmaster in the service of House Atreides. He was robust and friendly, kind to the young Paul (Timothée Chalamet), and capable in a fight; he famously killed multiple Sardaukar warriors before being overwhelmed and slain during a Harkonnen raid on the Atrides' mansion in Arrakeen. Despite this, Frank Herbert's second "Dune" book, "Dune Messiah," sees Duncan return as a clone, Indeed, Duncan clones, called "gholas," appeared throughout Herbert's six original novels, making Duncan Idaho the only "Dune" character to hold that distinction.
Villeneuve's "Dune" was filmed in the deserts of Jordan, specifically the Wadi Rum region, making for unbearably hot shooting days. When Momoa spoke with Entertainment Weekly about filming "Dune," he admitted he was wont to explore those deserts in his spare time. He explained how Villeneuve ensured all the...

Elvis Presley did not have a normal life in any sense of the word. He rose to unprecedented levels of fame in his twenties and maintained an army of dedicated fans for the entirety of his life. While this sometimes felt uncomfortable for him — he struggled to find any amount of privacy — Elvis thought of himself as greater than most people. His bodyguard said Elvis saw himself as superhuman.
Elvis Presley tried to elevate himself above normal humans
Elvis long claimed an ability to heal with his touch. While his bodyguard, Dave Hebler, thought Elvis genuinely wanted to help people, he thought the singer also wanted to think of himself as special.
“I think he sincerely wanted to heal someone’s pain. But at the same time he was trying to elevate himself above ordinary humans,” Hebler said in the book Elvis: What Happened? by Steve Dunleavy. “He sort of had this superman complex.

Avatar: The Last Airbender introduced a fictional world where benders can control one of the four classic elements: Fire, Water, Air, and Earth. The story centered around the titular character, Aang, who can master all elements due to him being the Avatar, to defeat Fire Lord Ozai and bring balance again.

While Ozai was the main villain all along, avid fans couldn’t forget his son, Zuko, who kept attempting to capture the Avatar throughout the series to reclaim his honor. THR reports that Beau Willimon is set to co-write the script for James Mangold’s Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi.
Willimon is a playwright and screenwriter best known for developing House of Cards for Netflix, but he also has some Star Wars experience as he worked on the first season of Andor, writing three episodes of the critically acclaimed series. He will co-write the script for Dawn of the Jedi (which is just a working title) alongside Mangold, who will also direct.

The episode of The Best of the Bad Guys focusing on Damien Thorn was written, narrated, and edited by Mike Holtz.
The Prince of Darkness. Heir to both Hell and Thorn Industries. The antichrist himself and guy who gets his haircut at Great Clips, Damien Thorn. The titular character of The Omen franchise will be praised not by his usual followers but by us as we dive into the second edition of The Best Of The Bad Guys, where we rank the best work of cinema’s most evil villains.
Damien Thorn’s run of evil has spanned five films including an utterly pointless shot-for-shot remake and a TV series with another prequel on the way in The First Omen. Six-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams will find herself back in the awards conversation again in 2024. The actress, whose most recent Academy Award nomination came in 2019 for the film “Vice,” stars in the new movie “Nightbitch” from writer-director Marielle Heller (“Can You Ever Forgive Me?” and “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood”). On Friday, Searchlight set “Nightbitch” on its release calendar for December 6.
Based on the book by Rachel Yoder, “Nightbitch” is about a woman who “pauses her career to be a stay-at-home mom, but soon her domesticity takes a surreal turn.” Amazon provides a more detailed description of Yoder’s novel, for those who are interested:
An ambitious mother puts her art career on hold to stay at home with her newborn son, but the experience does not match her imagination. Two years later, she steps into the bathroom for a break from her toddler’s demands, only to discover...

It’s been a year and a half since Nightbitch, a project that has been described as being a darkly comic “neo-horror” movie, went into production with Amy Adams (American Hustle) in the lead role, and now we finally have an update to share: Searchlight Pictures has announced that they will be giving the film a theatrical release on December 6, 2024. This is an upgrade in the release plans, as Nightbitch was originally meant to be released through the Hulu streaming service.
Written and directed by Marielle Heller (Can You Ever Forgive Me?), Nightbitch is based on a novel by Rachel Yoder. The film will tell the story of a suburban mom thrown into the stay-at-home routine of raising a toddler. As she embraces the feral power deeply rooted in motherhood, she becomes increasingly aware of the bizarre and undeniable signs that she may be turning into a dog.
Adams plays that possibly canine housewife.

Margot Robbie’s production company looks set to take on a film based on Avengelyne, a comic book character created by Deadpool’s Rob Liefeld.
If reports are accurate, Booksmart director Olivia Wilde is set to make Avengelyne, a take on the comic book character created by the mind behind Deadpool, Rob Liefeld. It’s the second project Wilde has lined up at Margot Robbie’s production company, LuckyChap Entertainment.
According to Deadline, 'Avengelyne is an angel who fights the forces of evil and often finds herself face-to-face with demons and monsters. She was the most feared warrior in Heaven’s Warhost, having single-handedly broken into Pandemonium, the outer fortress of Hell, to confront the Devil himself. She is a fallen angel, banished from Heaven by God after being tricked into questioning his love for humans. The 21st century is when everything changes.
British science fiction has been a lot of things. It was both cheesier and campier than its American counterpart, and yet also darker, grittier, and less afraid to tackle grown-up themes and bleaker outcomes. It had been a joke, and critically acclaimed, and it had all but died off except for some under-the-radar contenders.
And then something major happened: Doctor Who came back. It was always going to happen eventually – just look how many times The Tomorrow People has been remade. But Doctor Who didn’t just come back, it came back and became the biggest show in the country, on purpose.
Suddenly, the people in charge thought that maybe TV shows about ideas, and technology, and realities ahead of and besides our own could draw an audience, only this time they were taking it seriously and spending actual money on it. And...

Olivia Wilde’s comic book action film Avengelyne is picking up the sword with Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap production company along for the ride. Based on the signature comic book creation by Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld, rumor has it Margot Robbie could play the lead, but her reps are denying her involvement with that part of the project. LuckyChap includes Robbie, Tom Ackerley, Josey McNamara, and Simon Kinberg. LuckyChap produced Barbie, the billion-dollar barn-burner based on Mattel’s iconic blonde bombshell. With influence like that, it’s difficult not to imagine Avengelyne being a big to-do.
After directing 2019’s Booksmart and the controversial Don’t Worry Darling, Olivia Wilde is one of Hollywood’s most in-demand filmmakers. Exclusive: In what shapes up with the potential to be a big one, The Dish hears there is film rights auction in the works for Avengelyne — an angel who fights the forces of evil — with Olivia Wilde directing, based on the signature comic book creation by Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld. Aboard to produce is LuckyChap, the shingle Margot Robbie runs with Tom Ackerley and Josey McNamara, and Simon Kinberg and Audrey Chon through their Genre banner.
I’ve heard the plan was for this to be developed for Robbie to star, but her camp is denying that part of it. A big A-list writer is circling to adapt.
The principals behind this are not commenting, but expect this one to hit the street within the next two weeks. LuckyChap is coming off Barbie, last year’s top-grossing film with eight Oscar nominations. Wilde last directed Don’t Worry Darling and before that Booksmart.

Thomas Ripley is one of those characters we end up rooting for, even though he’s practically a sociopath. We wouldn’t want to cross paths with a man like him in real life, but again, similar sentiments were evoked by Pablo Escobar in Narcos too. In Ripley, we see Pietro Ravini as a villain, even though there’s nothing villainous about him. Ravini is merely fulfilling his role as a righteous representative of the law. But again, It’s only natural that we, as the audience, have a tendency to empathize with the central character’s conundrums, regardless of the crimes he has committed. This tendency to resonate with morally ambiguous characters extends even to how people feel about the actual depictions of celestial beings in the Bible. While Ophanim or Seraphim might appear unsettling because they lack humanoid features, Satan, with his human form, is easier for people to comprehend.

The SXSW festival has changed and changed again in its 35-plus years. Originally begun as “just” a music festival, the event has become an intersection that’s ever expanding. Bringing in the best of film, television, gaming, and even the cutting edge of technology, it is sometimes hard to quantify what isn’t SXSW these days. Even the Film Festival is now the Film & TV Festival. Still, Den of Geek tried to cover it all, so here’s a look at all the exciting projects we got an early glimpse at in our studio.

“I don’t know another character like this.” So says Delainey Hayles, Interview With the Vampire‘s new Claudia, who takes over the once-in-a-lifetime role from Bailey Bass in Season 2. Hayles had very little time between booking the role and the start of filming, she tells TV Insider. Her guiding light (her “spark in the dark“) through the quick turnaround was Anne Rice’s 1976 novel, and her onscreen vampire family, Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid. Given the attention to every lush detail in both Rice’s novel and Rolin Jones‘ AMC adaptation, Hayles tell us that “it was very clear how I was going to approach Claudia.” Translating Bass’ performance into her own was an exciting challenge. “I think Bailey did an amazing job in Season 1,” Hayles says of her predecessor. She was “able to pick up where [Bailey] left off” because of how clearly established that fledgling vampire was. Anderson...

And you might want to consider these insights from expert script supervisor, Sarah Horton, whose credits over a 12-year career include Mutt & Stuff, Aftermath, Behaving Badly, and Liza On Demand. Continuity and consistency are crucial for the development of your project. Your movie simply has to make sense. Script supervising—and filmmaking in general—is all about helping to answer these questions: “How are you getting into a scene?” and “How are you getting out of a scene?” And, most importantly: “How are your scenes blending together to make a beautiful piece of art?”

This weekend’s Saturday Night Live opened the show with a sketch of Donald Trump (played by James Austin Johnson) selling Bibles.
The joke is based on Trump’s “God Bless The USA” Bible endorsement, which he posted about on Truth Social last week. He also endorsed this Bible in the biography on his Instagram page.
The $60 Bibles include the U.S. Constitution, the Pledge of Allegiance and the words of the Miranda Rights.
Johnson’s Trump proclaimed, “That’s right, it’s Easter. The time of year when I compare myself to Jesus Christ. That’s just the thing I do now, and people seem to be okay with it. I’m going to keep doing it. If you think that this is a bad look, imagine how weird it would be if I started selling Bibles. Well, I’m selling Bibles.”

John Oliver took shots at Donald Trump’s “cash grabs,” including mugshot T-shirts (which read “Not Guilty”), branded cologne, a Bible, mini speakers with Trump’s likeness, and gold-colored earpods and sneakers, on Sunday’s edition of Last Week Tonight.
The HBO late night host started the segment by noting that Trump has “had a rough run in the courts lately. Between the E. Jean Carroll defamation judgment and New York State’s fraud case, he’s on the hook for over half a billion dollars, but even that doesn’t capture the full extent of the financial damage. Apparently since leaving office, he spent more than $100 million on legal bills alone, which averages more than $90,000 a day, none of it paid for with his own money,” Oliver added, citing a New York Times report. “In fact, a lot has come from his supporters because he’s repeatedly used his...
