Anna Reeves : I'm gonna go home and get it.
Sheriff Calder : [grabs microphone] Slim... Anna Reeves and Jake Rogers are on their way out here. And I want you to get on their tail and stay on it till I tell you to quit.
[puts down the mic]
Sheriff Calder : You don't have a chance of meeting Bubber, Anna. Not a chance. Where is he?
Anna Reeves : I don't talk to sheriffs, Calder. You oughta know that.
Sheriff Calder : [approaches] Do you know that a fellow was murdered up in Siddonsville today, and Bubber's being accused of it?
Anna Reeves : Bubba never murdered anybody!
Sheriff Calder : [nods] I don't believe he would either, but his fingerprints are all over the body. It'd be a whole lot better if he came in here voluntarily.
Anna Reeves : And be punished for something he didn't do?
