- We see a man's corpse lying on the street with blood on his head; we hear that his skull was bashed in. There is a little blood around the nostrils and lividity in the ankle of the body. The corpse is seen for a long period of time as it is examined.

- A car chase is shown, and one car bumps into the back of the other several times. However, there is no damage to the people, or really even the cars. A man is then chased into a depot where he is threatened with chains, a shovel, and a crowbar. Then a police officer walks in; he slaps one man and slugs another in the stomach with his fist.

- Toward the end, some elements of the plot deal with abortion. Although the topic is only discussed, these conversations could be sensitive to some viewers.
- The climactic scene has Det. Tibbs confronting the murderer outdoors at night, only to suddenly face a group of toughs obviously intent on harming him. However, Tibbs is able to provide the evidence of the murderer's actions and they turn on the murderer. One person is killed by a gunshot, another wounded.
