- Prince Siegfried: Are you a swan that turned into a human being? Or a human being that turned into a swan?
- Princess Odette: I'm really a human being. But, an evil sorcerer put me under a magic spell and turned me into a swan.
- Prince Siegfried: An evil sorcerer?
- Princess Odette: Yes. I can only turn back into a human girl, after the sun goes down and the moon comes out.
- Prince Siegfried: Then, the spell that turned my friend Adolf into a statue.
- Princess Odette: Yes. That was Rothbart's doing.
- Rothbart: Make Odette fall in love with me, and I'll give you a whole planet to rule.
- Odille: We make Siegfried fall in love with someone else.
- Rothbart: Hmmm, but suppose that idiotic prince won't fall in love with anyone except Odette. What do we do then?
- Odille: I'll show you, Daddy.
- Rothbart: Huh? What are you... What are you doing?
- [Odille transforms into Odette]
- Odille: [sees that Rothbart is sleeping] All he ever wants to do is sleep. It's time to wake up now, daddy. It's dark outside.
- [Rothbart's eyes open]
- Rothbart: Hmm? Huh?
- Odille: You're looking worse than usual, daddy... Is something wrong?
- Rothbart: Every single time, I turned someone into a statue. It really takes it out of me, you know. Especially, broad daylight.
- [groaning, he gets up]
- Odille: You're certainly crazy about that boring Odette, aren't you, daddy?
- [He gets out of the bed tree]
- Rothbart: Crazy? Why, that's not a word for it. She's the only thing in the world, we're feeling out of bed for.
- Prince Siegfried: Rothbart! Fight like a man!
- Rothbart: *Me*? Prince Siegfried wants to fight me?
- Prince Siegfried: I'll fight you to the death if I have to!
- Rothbart: Poor boy. Perhaps you don't realize that standing in front of you is Rothbart the Magnificent?
- Benno: Well. Congratulations, your highness.
- Prince Siegfried: You better stop it! Just because I'm turning 21 and taking over the kingdom and getting married to someone that I don't love all of one day, It doesn't mean you have to right to make fun of me!
- [turns back to himself]
- Prince Siegfried: I wish they were some way out... How can I marry a stranger? I know what I'll do. Give up... I've never disobeyed my mother and I can't start doing it now.
- Benno: Why are you so surprised? You were born of prince and this is your fate. So, you'll have to accept it.
- [Siegfried looks at Benno, walking through the window]
- [They see Siegfried with Odille, who dresses and looks like Odette dressed in black]
- Queen: Who is that mysterious lady there, dressed in black?
- Minister: I've never seen her. She's lovely.
- Queen: Whoever she is, I'm glad my son has finally found a young woman, He's interested in.
- [to the Minister]
- Queen: Have them begin the music, now.
- Minister: Music, maestro!
- [They began to starting the music]
- [Siegfried is waiting for Odette]
- Prince Siegfried: Of course, she'll come. I just know she will.
- Benno: But, your highness. If that sorcerer Rothbart uses his evil power...
- Prince Siegfried: Don't say that. I'll never marry anyone but her.
- Benno: But, what if she doesn't show up?
- Prince Siegfried: She will show up...
- [turns to himself]
- Prince Siegfried: If you looked in her eyes the way I have, Benno. You know that she can never break a promise anyone. Never.
- [turns back to Benno]
- Prince Siegfried: She'll be here, Benno. And the minute that I am king, she'll be my queen... You'll see.
- [Siegfried walks through the window]
- Adolph: Prince Siegfried! Something wrong, your highness?
- Prince Siegfried: Take a look over there.
- [Benno running off to see the swan with the crown on its head]
- Benno: Ooh! Would you look at that? A swan with a crown on its head!
- Adolph: Well, blow me down!
- [Siegfried and Benno riding on their horse to the lake for the swan with a crown, he sees the Adolph's statue]
- Prince Siegfried: Don't you worry about a thing, Adolph.
- [Hans and Margarita watches the swan with a crown is leaving, they notices that Siegfried and Benno has come back]
- Margarita: Oh, why is the prince back so soon?
- Prince Siegfried: [points to the swan with a crown] Look over there. The swan with a crown, It's leaving! Let's go!
- [Siegfried and Benno began to run off with their horses]
- Benno: Where are we going?
- Margarita: Why is Prince Siegfried following that beautiful swan?
- [running off, turns to Hans]
- Margarita: What are you waiting for?
- Hans: Huh? Why do I have to come?
- Prince Siegfried: I just don't understand it.
- Benno: Excuse me, your highness... I don't think it's hard to understand it all. That swan with a crown must be some kind of a witch. When you come to think of it, no one has ever be to the other side of that lake. Never.
- Prince Siegfried: No. No, I can't believe anything is beautiful as that swan could possibly be a witch.
- Benno: But, your highness. You saw Adolph get turned into a statue when he tries to shoot that swan. If you take my advice, your highness, you won't ever go anywhere near that enchanted lake again.
- Minister: May I now present, Princess Katherine!
- Princess Katherine: Happy birthday, Prince Siegfried.
- [Siegfried sighs]
- Princess Katherine: Well?
- [scoffs, goes back to the other princesses. Siegfried was thinking about Odette was coming to the ball]
- Prince Siegfried: [thinking] Odette, please hurry.
- Minister: May I now present, Princess Rosanna!
- Princess Rosanna: Many happy returns of the day, your highness.
- Prince Siegfried: Huh?
- [cuts to Princess Odette, Hans and Margarita are running to his castle. dissolves back to Prince Siegfried]
- Prince Siegfried: Please, Odette.
- Princess Francine: My name's Francine! I've never been so insulted in my entire life! Daddy's gonna hear about this.
- [goes back to the other princesses]
- Rothbart: [points his sword at Siegfried's throat] Watch me now, prince!
- Princess Odette: Stop! You can't kill him!
- Rothbart: [snickers] So you want him to live?
- Princess Odette: Please, don't kill him.
- [Odille steps forward]
- Odille: Finish him off!
- Rothbart: Oh, I'll let him live, Odette. If you'll accept my humble offer of marriage. Everything has its price. Now, have you fallen in love with me all of a sudden? Or do you want me to ask more nicely? You always were a romantic, weren't you? O, most beautiful of princesses, from the bottom of my heart, I humbly beg you to be mine!
- Prince Siegfried: [to Odette] You can't say yes! Forget about me! Don't give into this monster! I'm not worth it!
- Rothbart: It's up to you now. Please, shall I put him out of his misery?
- Princess Odette: [rushes forward] Wait!
- Prince Siegfried: [to Odette] Don't try to stop him!
- Rothbart: Well? Please give me your answer, princess. I haven't got all day. Will you love me forever, or will you let Siegfried die like a rat?
- Prince Siegfried: Odette, let him kill me! My life doesn't matter!
- Rothbart: Give me your answer, Odette. I'm waiting.
- Princess Odette: I promise that I will love you, Rothbart, for the rest of my life.
- Prince Siegfried: [yells] NO, ODETTE!
- [grabs Rothbart's blade with his hands, grunts]
- Rothbart: No, no! You mustn't...!
- [Siegfried pushes the sword into his chest, screaming. He flashes with a yellow light. Rothbart and Odille scream, turns into owls and fly out of the castle. But instantly they are obliterated by the sunlight]
- Rothbart: Ugggh! Odille, help me!
- [Odille shrieks]
- [Rothbart and Odille as owls, leaving his castle at night]
- Rothbart: Have a pleasent evening, Odette! Curl up with a good book or play a few hands of solitaire! I want you rested for your wedding tomorrow!
- [cackling]
- Princess Odette: [sobbing] Prince Siegfried, Prince Siegfried.
- Princess Odette: He destroyed my entire country.
- Prince Siegfried: [gasps] Rothbart destroyed it?
- Princess Odette: I was once the princess of a beautiful land far across the sea. Three years ago, Rothbart came and asked for my hand in marriage, I refused. He kept asking when I kept saying 'no', he threatened to destroy my country and everyone in it. We tried to fight him, but it was useless. He destroyed my land. Then, he kidnap me and brought me here.
- Prince Siegfried: But, why does this Rothbart make you turned into a swan every morning?
- Princess Odette: Because, he never wants me to meet another man for the rest of my life.
- Prince Siegfried: Why not?
- Princess Odette: If a man comes along who truly loves me with all his heart and soul. Then, Rothbart will lose his power and all his spells will be broken forever. That's what he turns me into a swan every day, to make sure that I won't ever meet such a man.
- Prince Siegfried: No, is that really true?
- Princess Odette: Yes. He has cast this spell upon me to prove that I am under his power, and that there is no way from me to escape.
- Rothbart: Please, Odette. Take pity on me, I'm a much better person than you think. Would you rather marry that primping little prince on his ridiculous prancing palomino?
- Princess Odette: Yes.
- Rothbart: But, why? How could you be in love with someone you never laid eyes on until today?
- Princess Odette: You're wrong about that. I've been in love with Siegfried since the first time I swam out into that lake.
- Rothbart: [shocked] What? For three years?
- Princess Odette: Every time, he went out hunting with his friends. I go down to the lake and watch him go by.
- Rothbart: So, that's why you never fell in love with me. Even a little bit. Don't push your luck with me. There's only so much humiliation a sorcerer can take, you know even from the only woman for he'll ever love. Why if you felt like it, I could turn you into a slimy little snake! If you don't do what I say, I'll turn you into a caterpillar, Odette. Just watch me.
- [Rothbart's eyes transforms a canary bird into a caterpillar, Odette notices it and shocked]
- Princess Odette: Oh, no.
- Rothbart: Would you please stop crying for one minute? One of these days, you will have to forget about Siegfried. But I'm patient. I'm sure if I just wait to long enough you will finally give in and marry me.
- [hears Siegfried's horse neighing, gasps]
- Rothbart: What?
- Princess Odette: Prince Siegfried!
- Rothbart: [growling] That little runt! I've had enough of him!
- Benno: What have you got turned into a frog or something?
- Prince Siegfried: Well then, I'll just have to find a beautiful princess to kiss me and turn me back into a prince.
- Odille: Good idea, don't you think?
- Rothbart: No, that something I could never do ever in a million years. I could never do anything to hurt my beautiful Odette.
- Odille: Oh, how did you get to be such a softee? If you don't have to discuss to do it, I'll do it myself.
- Rothbart: No! And please, put that horrible thought out of your mind! I love her too much, Odille. Please...
- [Odille cackling]
- Queen: And now, my son. The time has come for you to tell all of us assembled here. Which one of these lovely princesses you have all decided to marry?
- Prince Siegfried: [turns to the Queen] And now, mother. The time has come for me to tell you that I am not going to marry any of these princesses.
- Queen: [gasps] Siegfried?
- Prince Siegfried: [turns to the princesses] Listen, everybody. I'm sorry I have to say this, but the ball is over. I'm sorry I had the end like this and that you lovely princesses have to come all this way for nothing.
- [the princesses gasps]
- Prince Siegfried: You can all go home now.
- [sees that Odille is disguised as Odette in black, gasps]
- Prince Siegfried: Odette, I knew you come!
- Prince Siegfried: [sees that Rothbart is carrying Odette] What? Who are you? And how did you get into my castle?
- Rothbart: [cackling] Just call me dad! Now, that you're planning to marry my daughter Odille!
- Prince Siegfried: [turns to Odille] You mean he's your father?
- Odille: I'm afraid he is.
- Prince Siegfried: [turns back to Rothbart] You must be that evil sorcerer Rothbart!
- Rothbart: Very smart. Now, Odette belongs to me!
- [cackling]
- Prince Siegfried: But, if that's princess Odette, who do I just proposed to?
- Odille: Well, I told you my name is Odille, didn't I?
- [transforms back into normal, Siegfried gasps]
- Odille: It's too late to be shocked, prince. You've already to given your solemn oath to marry me and till love me for the rest of your ever loving life.
- Prince Siegfried: [turns to Odette] My princess!
- [Odette opens her eyes and sees Prince Siegfried and turns away]
- Prince Siegfried: No! Please forgive me, Odette!
- Rothbart: [cackles] Forget it, Siegfried. She's my princess now.
- [sees that Odette is waking up and turns to her]
- Rothbart: You're waking up at last, Odette.
- Princess Odette: [shoves Rothbart] Farewell, Prince Siegfried.
- [runs away]
- Princess Odette: If you really want to prove how much you love me. If you really want to prove it, then leave my room immediately. Because, you're the last person in the world I care to see.
- [Rothbart began to angry, growling]
- Rothbart: How dare you, how dare you say that! Odette, do you want to go to this Siegfried ball? Hmm? And do you think I let you go?
- [he leaves out of her room]
- Rothbart: And that you obviously don't know very much about Rothbart the Magnificent!
- [chortling, opens and closes the door]
- Prince Siegfried: [notices that Adolph is shoots it] What are you doing?
- Adolph: I'm going to bring that swan home. So, you could hang her up over the fireplace.
- Prince Siegfried: No, don't shoot!
- [Rothbart the owl transforming him into a statue and flies away]
- Prince Siegfried: Adolph!
- [comes to him, gasps in horror]
- Prince Siegfried: Look! Adolph's been turned into a statue!
- Benno: I knew this must be something strange about this forest, your highness. I bet it has something to do with that mysterious swan.
- Prince Siegfried: But, she was so beautiful.
- Benno: We best get out of here in a hurry, your highness, before the sun goes down.
- Rothbart: Let's come to an understanding, Siegfried. I'm a reasonable man. You agreed to marry my daughter, I won't squash you like a bug.
- Prince Siegfried: I'll never marry your daughter! Do you hear me? Never!
- Odille: [gasps in shocked] Well, of all the nerve! I don't want him anymore! Go ahead and kill him, daddy!
- Rothbart: You don't have to ask me twice, my sweet! Now, comes the fun part. Hyah!
- [slices his spiky green vines with his sword]
- Prince Siegfried: I knew all along that no matter what happen you wouldn't break your promise, Odette.
- Odille: Odette? My name's Odille.
- Prince Siegfried: Odille?
- Odille: That's right. O prince, how could you forget my name.
- Prince Siegfried: But last night, you said your name was...
- Odille: I'm sure I said my name is Odille, because that's what it is. The moonlight must have affective your hearing. I just love what moonlight does to men.
- Prince Siegfried: That must be it. But, who cares? It doesn't matter to me what your name is. I'm just incredibly happy that you've came to the ball, Odille.
- [Rothbart the Owl watches Siegfried and Odille dancing together. He turns and sees Odette was running enter to his castle. He flies to Odette and transforms into a human. Odette turns to him, gasps. He stops her]
- Rothbart: What brings you here?
- [Hans and Margarita sees that Rothbart, screams and runs away]
- Rothbart: Well, now. As long as you are here, I might just will show you something. I think you'll be amused.
- [snickering, carrying Odette]
- [Hans and Margarita notices that Odette was transformed into a beautiful human young girl from the swan and Prince Siegfried followed her]
- Margarita: Did you see what I saw, or is all of this a bad dream?
- Hans: You shouldn't be afraid now. Nothing's gonna happen to us.
- Margarita: Right. Because, the prince is here to protect us.
