Trivia:
Many of the studio sequences filmed in rooms with entirely black walls and floors, in the middle of which various minimal set elements would be arranged, were shot in the studio classrooms of the iEAR (Integrated Electronic Arts at Rensselaer) at Renssalear Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, New York, near Albany. RPI students also constructed the prototype "Mars rover" shown in one of the episodes speculating on robotic exploration of other planets. more
Quotes:
Carl Sagan: Up there in the immensity of the Cosmos, an inescapable perception awaits us. National boundaries are not evident when we view the Earth from space. Fanatical ethnic, religious or national chauvinisms are a little difficult to maintain when we see our planet as a fragile blue crescent fading to become an inconspicuous point of light against the bastion and citadel of the stars. more

The best way to be introduced to science!, 24 JANUÁR 2000
10/10
Author: Tony Cooke from Adelaide, South Australia

Carl Sagan had a way with words. He had a way of making the complex simple. As a young teenager growing up with an interest in science this was an excellent way to begin.

This is one of those must see programs. The music by Vangelis was also fantastic.

This ignited (excuse the pun) my interest in science and Vangelis' music which is as keen now as when I first saw and heard it.

Excellent!
