Sex & Nudity

  • Rambo is hosed down by the police. His bare buttocks are shown briefly during the scene.

Violence & Gore

  • There's a fight in a police station in which Rambo fights with a group of cops, and he beats them all up. One cop takes a strong elbow to the face and is seen with a bloody nose.
  • A cop runs into a booby trap in a forest. Nothing seen
  • Rambo jumps from a tree onto a cop, knocking him down, and strikes him on his arm while he's lying dazed on the ground, presumably breaking the cop's arm. He yells out in pain and calls for help, and is hit by gunfire in the arm by his fellow cops when they shoot at rambo but miss and hit him by accident. He's wounded but survives.
  • A cop is shown pinned to a tree by the wire held tight around his neck.
  • A cop is stabbed in the leg by Rambo. He cries out for help.
  • A cop fires a rocket launcher at a cave, causing a large explosion.
  • Intense and distressing, but not graphic. The movie would be PG-13 by today's standards if not for the language.
  • Rambo only kills one person in this movie, a police officer who's trying to shoot him in a helicopter, Rambo throws a rock of him, and he falls to his death, the guys bloody body is seen
  • A character jumps down from a tree with a spear and kills a pig with it. We hear the pig squeal as it happens, and the character is briefly seen walking away with part of its carcass, with the insides briefly visible.
  • Rambo is shot at by a Sheriff's deputy who is hanging from the side from a helicopter; Rambo, in self-defense, throws a rock at the helicopter's window, which inadvertently causes deputy to fall from the helicopter.
  • Rambo wounds several police officers in the forest with a trap. All offscreen
  • Rambo shoots two of the police dogs with a rifle (offscreen, though we hear the dogs yelp in pain).
  • Rambo punches several policemen with his bare hands. No blood, not bad
  • Rambo steals a machinegun although he does not use it
  • In a flashback sequence, People die in the Vietnam War, probably most violent part in the movie.

Profanity

  • Rated R: For Pervasive Strong Thematic and Emotionally Intense Sequences Throughout Including Violence, and for Strong Language and Brief Nudity.
  • Around 10 uses of "f**k", some uses of "ass", 8-10 uses of "shit", 8 uses of "bitch", 1 use of "bastard", and over 10 uses of "God", "Christ", "Jesus", "Hell", and "Damn". Also multiple uses of "Jesus Christ" and "Goddamn".

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A couple of character smoke.
  • A colonel and a police officer drink beer in a bar while talking about how to take down Rambo.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The car and motorcycle chase is intense.
  • In one scene, Rambo sews his wound up. Willits of blood pursuit down, quite graphic.
  • The way Rambo is treated for being a veteran is very upsetting, giving how much PTSD he has in the film, and he's triggered quite alot in the police station
  • There's an intense and claustrophobic sequence where Rambo climbs around in a tunnel underground.
  • The police station fight scene is intense.
  • The long shootout and standoff in the town at the end is intense.
  • The film is very emotional and has a somewhat depressing ending.
