Sex & Nudity

  • An old woman tells her daughter that sex might be the reason for her hip displacement. A doctor tells her that sex has medical benefits.
  • A man tries to explain to his son and daughter, both young children, what the word "sexy" means.
  • Dr. Stockwood and Dr. Farmer strike up a friendship which later becomes a romance. In one scene they kiss and put their arms around each other.
  • An elderly lady starts dating an elderly man. They hold hands and kiss. Later on, while talking to Dr. Stockwood, she dies. Dr. Farmer cries and Dr. Stockwood puts his hand on her shoulder.

  • A little girl steals a woman's compact makeup mirror. The girl's parents are presumably dead and she steals the mirror because it reminds her of her mother.
  • Dr. Stockwood holds a little girl down to try and restrain her.
  • Dr. Williams argues with his wife.
  • Johnathan kicks his sister under the kitchen table.
  • Two old men get into an argument over a woman playing the piano.
  • A little girl has a violent nightmare.

Profanity

  • No swearing, a few slang sexual phrases like "knocking", nothing serious. Some minor name-calling like "brat" and "hag", mostly from the children in the film.
  • An old man calls Dr. Williams a negro, and though it wasn't intended to be racist, it might offend viewers since the phrase is out of date.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Harry's behavior might bother some viewers and confuse younger viewers.
  • Mrs. Karlberg's death is incredibly sad and somewhat frightening. Dr. Williams, Dr. Stockwood and Dr. Farmer are struck deeply by her loss, and Harry becomes very disoriented, wandering New York City in an Alzheimer's-like state of mind.
  • Leigh and Zack splitting up might bother some viewers.
  • The elderly patients discussing sex might bother some viewers.
