The Third Man (1949)
John Glen had previously worked in the sound department for 'The third man' (with Guy Hamilton, another Bond alumnus, as assistant director) and includes at least two references to the older film in the Vienna-set parts of 'The living daylights'. Both have a key scene set in the Prater ferris wheel; in the Bond version, Necros (posing as a balloon salesman) approaches Bond with the words "Ballon, mein Herr?" ("balloon, Sir?"). Towards the climax of 'The third man', Major Calloway and Sgt Paine are pestered by an elderly balloon salesman with these very same words; the latter is played by Bernard Lee, the original M in the Bond series.Dr. No (1962)

The Love Punch (2013)
The scene where Kate, Richard, Pen and Jerry, all dressed in black wetsuits, scale a rocky cliff with the help of ropes mimics the pre title sequence of The Living Daylights. The music accompanying the scene also closely resembles the score of this Bond film.
