Eleventh Hour Games, the developers behind the latest Arpg sensation Last Epoch, has released the first patch since the game’s 1.0 launch. Besides fixing a ton of bugs, the 1.0.1 patch adds a spawning animation for gold coins. So, rather than magically appearing on your screen out of pockets of the slain foes, they now still magically appear, albeit with a little panache.
Among the multitude of bug fixes, I would especially mention the ones aimed at fixing issues with gamepads. Now, the various in-game menus like the Social and Mastery panels should be easily navigable with a controller. Also, NPCs will not pop fake interaction prompts now when approached by players on gamepads.
The patch also has tweaked some waypoint placements to make the campaign progression more convenient.
Here are the full patch notes for the Last Epoch 1.0.1 update:

For long stretches of Subject 101, our protagonist — identified in the end credits only as “101” (Cem Ali Gültekin) — has no idea what’s going on. He finds himself in ghastly scenes of violence and carnage, sometimes with himself holding the gun. He seems to wake up from them, only to discover he’s in some other cruel unreality. A scar on his shoulder comes and goes. A tattoo on his arm changes shape. He’s lost any sense of time, of self, of control.
And for much of that time, we’re as clueless as he is. What’s happened to him isn’t entirely a mystery; writer-director Tom Bewilogua plants clues about a Manchurian Candidate-esque mind control scenario before we have so much as a chance to ask. But we’re as uncertain as he is about what’s real and what’s not,...

The CBS Network aims to create what it terms “meaningful representation and inclusion for all underrepresented groups, including performers with disabilities.” The opportunities are envisioned in series regular, guest star or costarring roles in current series and pilots, playing characters specifically written with a disability, as well as roles that do not specify one.
Fall Premiere Dates For New & Returning TV Series On Broadcast, Cable & Streaming
“By focusing on professional growth and supporting these performers, this initiative helps to provide opportunities and much-needed exposure in the industry,” said Claudia Lyon, executive vice president of talent and casting at CBS Entertainment. “There are so many talented performers available who are often overlooked and are not being considered for roles, so our goal with this initiative...

It’s tough to pinpoint the exact moment that the movie hooks you; mileage will vary per viewer. For some, it might be right from the get go, during a Melodrama 101 preamble involving a kidnapped child and casual colonial cruelty that leaves corpses in its wake. Others may find themselves leaning forward when a supercop, sporting the world’s most luxurious old-timey mustache, single-handedly beats back a crowd of thousands to catch a rock-throwing culprit. Or maybe the sight of a ripped, shirtless man sprinting through a forest and...

Goodbye to Andy Fletcher, a beloved New Wave uncle to countless Depeche Mode fans over the years. Fletch, who died at age 60 of natural causes, was a founding member of the pioneering synth-pop sages, and a crucial element in their chemistry. Every sullen goth teen who ever wore black in the Eighties has a soft spot in their heart for this man, which is why fans all over the world are blasting Black Celebration in his honor right now. Fletch represented their original punk-rock spirit of inspired amateurism. As he...

Jenny Beavan won an Oscar tonight in the Best Achievement in Costume Design category for her work on Disney’s Cruella.
This is Beavan’s third Oscar win for Costume Design, having won in 2016 for Mad Max: Fury Road and in 1987 for A Room with a View.
Beavan started her acceptance speech by jokingly saying, “If you hear a really embarrassing noise, it’s probably my family somewhere up there.”
Based on the iconic villain from 101 Dalmatians, Cruella follows a young woman named Estella (Emma Stone) who dreams of being a fashion designer. When she manages to land her dream job designing for the Baroness (Emma Thompson), Estella quickly becomes convinced that she deserves more in life. Taking on the persona of Cruella, she becomes a rival of the Baroness with a rebellious sense of fashion.

Wayne Thiebaud, a Sacramento-based artist and teacher famous for his colorful paintings of desserts and California landscapes, died Dec. 25 at the age of 101. Thiebaud’s death was announced on Instagram by his gallery, Acquavella.
“An American icon, Wayne led his life with passion and determination, inspired by his love for teaching, tennis, and above all, making art,” the gallery wrote. “Even at 101 years old, he still spent most days in the studio, driven by, as he described with his characteristic humility, ‘this almost neurotic fixation of trying to learn to paint.’”
Born in 1920 in Mesa, Arizona, USA, Thiebaud became an apprentice in the animation department at Walt Disney Studios for three months while in high school. He then enrolled at the Frank Wiggins Trade School in Los Angeles where he learned sign-painting and other commercial art skills.
Thiebaud’s years as a cartoonist influenced his technique, a stylized realism depicting everyday objects and scenes.
