Looking back at 2011 on what films moved and impressed us it becomes more and more clear—to me at least—that watching old films is a crucial part of making new films meaningful. Thus, our end of year poll, now an annual tradition, which calls upon our writers to pick both a new and an old film: they were challenged to choose a new film they saw in 2011—in theaters or at a festival—and creatively pair it with an old film they also saw in 2011 to create a unique double feature. Many contributors chose their favorites of 2011, some picked out-of-the-way gems, others made some pretty strange connections—and some frankly just want to create a kerfuffle. Eddie Money loves good sax, rock 'n roll, and a kick-ass party in Paradise. When PopStar caught up with Eddie at a recent concert in Lincolnshire, Illinois, it quickly became apparent that this 35-year music veteran was exactly where he belonged. Surrounded by fans and dressed in Johnny Cash black, the pop/rock legend walked onstage, flashed his signature grin and said, "I'm going to do my best to put on a great show for you tonight!" To ensure that, he came fully equipped with a first-rate band, most notably the uber-talented guitarist Tommy Girvin, who's been with Eddie for the past 22 years, and bassist Lee Beverly, who's flawless backup vocals perfectly complimented Eddie's, for that distinctive Eddie Money sound that we all know and love. Playing to a packed house at Cubby Bear North near Chicago, Eddie produced a tambourine, gave it a twirl, and opened the show with "Two Tickets to Paradise.
