Grimsby : [Calling Out] Eric? Eric!
[the approaching Grimsby and Max's barking send a startled Ariel back into the ocean]
Grimsby : [Helping Eric to his feet] You really delight in these sadistic strains on my blood pressure, don't you?
Prince Eric : A girl rescued me. She... She was singing. She had the most beaufiful voice.
Grimsby : Eric, I think you've swallowed a bit too much seawater. Off we go. Come along, Max.
Sebastian : [after watching the unfolding events] We just gonna forget this whole thing ever happened. The sea king will never know. You won't tell him.
Flounder : [Nods in agreement]
Sebastian : I won't tell him. I will stay in one piece.
[Ariel has possitioned herself on top of a rock watching Eric longingly]
Ariel : [sung] I don't know when/ I don't know how/ But I know something's starting right now/ Watch and you'll see/ Someday I'll be/ Part of your world

Ariel : [regarding King Triton, as Sebastian watches, unobserved] If only I could make him understand. I just don't see things the way he does. I just don't see how a world that makes such wonderful things could be bad.
[She begins singing "Part of Your World."]
Ariel : Look at this stuff, isn't it neat? / Wouldn't ya think my collection's complete / Wouldn't you think I'm the girl / Girl who has everything / Look at this trove, treasures untold / How many wonders can one cavern hold? / Looking around you'd think / Sure, she's got everything / I've got gadgets and gizmos aplenty / I have whoozits and whatzis galore / You want thingamabobs? Ursula : You'll have your looks, your pretty face. And don't underestimate the importance of body language!
[singing]

Sebastian : Well, it was ruined! That's all! Completely destroyed! This concert was to be the pinnacle of my distinguished career. Now thanks to you, I am the laughingstock of the entire kingdom!
Flounder : But it wasn't her fault. First, the shark chased us. Yeah, yeah. And we tried to... But we couldn't, and he

Flounder : And... And we... whoa! And then we were safe. But then this seagull came, and it was "This is this, and that is that, and..."

[Flounder gasps and hides in Ariel's hair as she gives him a dirty look]
Triton : What? You went up to the surface again, didn't you? Didn't you?
Ariel : Nothing happened.
Triton : Ariel, how many times must we go through this? You could've been seen by one of those barbarians, by by one of those humans!
Ariel : Daddy, they're not barbarians.
Triton : They are dangerous. Do you think I would want to see my youngest daughter snared by some fish-eater's hook?
Ariel : I'm 16 years old. I'm not a child any more.
Triton : Don't you take that tone of voice with me, young lady! As long as you live under my ocean, you'll obey my rules!
Ariel : But if you would just listen...
Triton : Not another word! And I am never, never to hear of you going to the surface again! Is that clear?
[Ariel leaves, crying]

Triton : [confronts Ariel in her grotto] I consider myself a reasonable merman. I set certain rules, and I expect those rules to be obeyed.
Ariel : But Dad, I...
Triton : [interrupts] Is it true you rescued a human from drowning?
Ariel : Daddy, I had to...
Triton : Contact between the human world and the mer-world is strictly forbidden. Ariel, you know that! Everyone knows that.
Ariel : He would have died.
Triton : [coldly] One less human to worry about.
Ariel : [frustrated] You don't even know him.
Triton : Know him? I don't have to know him! They're all the same. Spineless, savage, harpooning fish-eaters, incapable of any feeling...
Ariel : [interrupts] Daddy, I love him!
[Ariel gasps, realizing she accidentally slipped the truth]
Triton : [shocked] No! Have you lost your senses completely? He's a human. You're a mermaid.
Ariel : I don't care.
Triton : So help me, Ariel, I am going to get through to you. And if this is the only way, so be it!
[He proceeds to destroy Ariel's collection of human objects with his trident]

Ursula : Well, angelfish, the solution to your problem is simple. The only way to get what you want is to become a human yourself.
Ariel : Can you do that?
[this gives Ursula an evil idea, but she pretends to be kind]
Ursula : [politely] My dear, sweet child. That's what I do. It's what I live for. To help unfortunate merfolk, like yourself, poor souls with no one else to turn to.

Ursula : And there is one more thing. We haven't discussed the subject of payment. You can't get something for nothing, you know.
Ariel : But I don't have any...
Ursula : I'm not asking much. Just a token really, a trifle. You'll never even miss it. What I want from you is your voice.
Ariel : My voice?
Ursula : You got it, sweetcakes. No more talking, singing. Zip!

Ariel : I don't understand.
Flotsam & Jetsam : Ursula has great powers.
Ariel : The sea witch? Why, that's... I couldn't possibly. No! Get out of here. Leave me alone!

[Jetsam flicks the broken statue's face towards Ariel]
Ariel : [looking at the face] Wait.
Flotsam & Jetsam : Yes?

[turns to Flounder]
Ariel : What do you call 'em? Oh... feet!
[Ariel playfully tugs on Flounder's fins]
Ariel : [continues singing] Flippin' your fins, you don't get too far, legs are required for jumping, dancing! Strolling along down a...
[pause]
Ariel : What's that word again? Street! Up where they walk, up where they run, up where they stay all day in the sun, wandering free, wish I could be part of that world!

Scuttle : [Flying blissfully close to the wedding barge, as he hums the Wedding March]
Vanessa : [singing in Ariel's Voice, to the tune of "Poor Unfortunate Souls"] What a lovely little bride I'll make/ My dear I'll look divine.
Vanessa : [Chuckles, then continues Singing] Things are working out according/ To my ultimate design
Scuttle : [Watching the entire scene gulps]
Vanessa : [singing] Soon I'll have that little mermaid/ And the ocean will be mine
Vanessa : [laughing into the mirror, whose reflection reveals she is indeed Ursula]
Scuttle : [Gasps] The Sea Witch! Oh no. She's gonna. I gotta.
[In his haste flys into the window by mistake]
Scuttle : Ariel!

Ariel : You're not getting cold fins now, are you?

[Adoring a statue of Eric]
Ariel : It looks just like him. It even has his eyes. Way, Eric, run away with you? This is all so, so sudden.

Andrina : Ariel, dear, time to come out. You've been in there all morning.
[Ariel emerges, singing to herself]
Atina : What is with her lately?
[Ariel looks at herslf in the mirror, then picks a flower next to it and swims away, but stops short when she sees her father]
Ariel : Morning, Daddy.
Triton : [Ariel tucks the flower next to her father's ear and swims off, continuing to sing to herself] Well!
Atina : She's got it bad.
Triton : What? What has she got?
Andrina : Isn't it obvious, Daddy? Ariel's in love.
Triton : Ariel?
[picks the flower from the side of his ear]
Triton : In love?

Sebastian : Ariel, where are you going?
[He swims up to her and observes that she is swimming with Flotsam and Jetsam]
Sebastian : Ariel, what are you doing here with this riffraff?
Ariel : I'm going to see Ursula.
Sebastian : [gets a shocked look on his face and gasps] Ariel, no! No!
[He begins tugging on her tail fin, trying to pull her back]
Sebastian : She's a demon! She's a monster!
Ariel : Why don't you go tell my father? You're good at that!
[She shakes him off]

Scuttle : Now, the snarfblatt dates back to prehistorical times when humans would sit around and stare at each other all day.
[long pause]
Scuttle : Got very boring. So, they invented this snarfblatt to make fine music. Allow me.
[Attempts to blow the pipe and seaweed crops out of it]
Ariel : [realizing] Music!
Scuttle : It's stuck!
[coughs and gags]
Ariel : The concert! Oh my gosh! My father's gonna kill me!
Flounder : [gasps] The concert was today?

Ariel : [singing] What would I give if I could live out of the water. What would I pay to spend a day warm on the sand. Bet'cha on land they understand that they don't reprimand their daughters. Bright young women, sick of swimmin', ready to stand! And ready to know what the people know, ask 'em my questions and get some answers! What's a fire and why does it... what's the word? Burn! When's it my turn? Wouldn't I love, love to explore that shore up above? Out of the sea, wish I could be part of that world!

Prince Eric : No, I won't leave you.

Ariel : Flounder, hurry up.

Triton : Ursula, stop!
Ursula : Why, King Triton! How are you?
Triton : Let her go!
Ursula : Not a chance, Triton! She's mine now!
[showing him the contract]
Ursula : We made a deal.
Ariel : Daddy, I'm sorry! I... I didn't mean to! I didn't know!
[Triton tries to destroy the scroll with his trident, but nothing happens]
Ursula : You see? The contract's legal, binding, and completely unbreakable, even for you. Of course, I always was a girl with an eye for a bargain. The daughter of the great sea king is a very precious commodity. But I might be willing to make an exchange for someone even better.

Prince Eric : [released from Ursula's spell; Ariel has her voice back] Ariel?
Ariel : Eric.
Prince Eric : You... you can talk? You're the one.
[runs up to Ariel]
Ursula : Eric, get away from her.
Prince Eric : It was you all the time.
Ariel : Eric, I wanted to tell you.
Ursula : Eric, no!
[the sun sets as they are about to kiss and her legs turn back into a tail]
Ursula : You're too late! You're too late!
[Vanessa rips out of her dress and turns back into Ursula; She slithers across the deck, grabs Ariel]
Ursula : So long, lover boy.
Prince Eric : Ariel!
