Sex & Nudity

  • A woman and her lover are shown in bed and it is implied they are fooling around as part of their sexual relationship. The man is shown naked, though nothing is seen of the waist down. The woman is not shown below her shoulders.
  • A woman acts suggestively to her husband. She is shown for a fraction of a second in somewhat revealing attire and she unzips her husband's pants and takes off his shirt.
  • Two characters are shown in a bubble bath together. No nudity below the shoulders.

Violence & Gore

  • A theme in the story is the poison extracted from the ovaries of a fish and its lethal effect upon ingestion, particularly in the sense of one person purposely poisoning another.
  • A character is shown going through the effects of being poisoned (gasping for breath, screaming, wrecking the surroundings in the process). A glass breaks in his hand, leaving it bloody. It smears on a woman's neck as he grabs her.
  • A character is about to perform an autopsy on a man. He describes the machine which drains the blood for the body to an assistant and is shown making one small incision in the corpse's neck before he is interrupted.
  • A character is shown many times with severe gashes on his hands. He puts his hands in a sink full of hydrogen peroxide, causing it to bubble while he screams.
  • A character attempts to shoot another with a shotgun.
  • A character is hit in the back of the head with a pipe-like object.
  • A character has a small blood smear on the side of the forehead after a fall.

  • A character is shown going through the effects of being poisoned (gasping for breath, screaming, wrecking the surroundings in the process). The scene can be pretty frightening and intense.
  • A character thinks an intruder is in the house and it can be pretty suspenseful while the character walks through the house cautiously.
  • A character is startled by someone wearing a welder's mask, who comes out of nowhere in what can be a frightening, jumpy moment.
  • A character is shown to have been stabbed with a syringe filled with poison. The character screams.
  • A character screams after a dead body rolls on top of them.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Two characters try to crawl towards a syringe filled with poison to kill the other with it. They wrestle over it briefly until one of them pins down the other. The scene gets briefly frightening and suspenseful.
  • Two characters are lead through a maze-like structure inside a house by who they believe to be an intruder in the house. There are sliding components to the maze that open or close around them. These scenes are suspenseful.
