Sex & Nudity

  • There is an implied sex scene midway through the film. No nudity is shown. Chuck goes down a female floozy, implying oral sex on her.

Violence & Gore

  • There's a brief fight between one man and a group of men; one man's face is slammed into a table and he's then slammed into another man, another man is kicked, another man has an object thrown into his face, one man's hand is broken and he's knocked down, the first man is thrown into a wall, and the last man is shot and flies through a window.
  • A woman sitting in her car is shot in the head.
  • The Iranians blow up the car of the Lugiani henchmen. Graphic. They shoot one of the men first (graphic), and then when the other guy goes to start the car, when he turns the ignition on, the car explodes.
  • In the end of the film, the villain gets blown up (surprisingly some blood is seen and its not really graphic although you do see some body parts explodes very briefly and blood spraying in a nearby window)
  • Extremely graphic violence, maybe even moreso than "GoodFellas." People are shot, punched, ribs broken, tortured, beaten, and murdered throughout this movie.
  • The movie has some shootouts, murders, and fistfights. There's quite an amount of blood.
  • Some people are shot in cold blood.
  • A man is chained up and tortured inside a meat house and is forced to eat raw meat. Graphic.

Profanity

  • Strong profanity throughout, particularly coming from Michael Parks and Al Waxman's characters.
  • Some racial slurs, especially towards a little black kid as well as toward Irish, French and Italians. Some crude jokes about Iranians, as though they are Arabs, when they're not. Some crude/dark humor presented in the movie as well.
  • Cinemax content advisory for this movie: rated R for graphic violence (GV), graphic language (GL), and adult content (AC)
  • Crude humor left and right.
  • Over 100 uses of the f-word, the GD word, and other profanities.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Smoking and drinking.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The whole movie is in many ways, much darker than "Deep Cover." The whole story is about undercover cop, Cliff Garrett (via the alias Danny Grogan) working undercover to get even with all who wronged him (including his "Friends"-watching The WB-loving Allied Nordicist Yankee ex-partner, Ronny Delaney).
  • We see the effects working undercover has on Cliff. It's a disturbing movie. A perfect blend of action and mental thriller. One mistake, his cover is blown and he could be shot. Lots of tension between Iranians, Italians and French vying for power in southern Canada/the Pacific Northwest.
  • Intense scene of torture.
  • Most of the violence is brutal.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • We see a very brutal shootout between the Iranian gang and Lacombe's gang. We see a very graphic shot of dead bodies hanging. Very graphic.
  • A man abuses his son and beats him. He later has his noose busted by Norris, who witnessed him abusing the kid.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The shot of LaCombe finding the dead bodies hanging from the tree is a bit startling and creepy. This movie is not for kids. It's standard Chuck Norris R-rated actioner.
