As the Hollywood blockbuster machine continues to dust itself off and release some early winter hits, Hulu is going in a bit of a different direction with its list of new releases for November 2021.
There are no big Hulu original films of note this month. Instead there’s a whole host of original series. The TV parade starts on Nov. 5 with the release of Animaniacs season 2. Also getting a second season this month is monarchal comedy The Great on Nov. 19. The most intriguing series, however, is animated Marvel comedy Marvel’s Hit Monkey. As its name so graciously implies, this is a show about a hit monkey…as in monkey assassin. Naturally the hit monkey is haunted by the ghost of Jason Sudeikis because it’s important that everything make sense.
Though Hulu doesn’t have any original movies in November, its list of library movie titles is quite vast.

Show Premise
Highly successful lingerie company owners and married couple Alan and Lee Arnold decide to retire from their CEO position and name their non identical twin daughters as their successors. The two sisters, Mitchee and Farrah, couldn’t be more different from one another if they tried. Oddly, the two take after their parents almost exactly, with Mitchee taking after her father, who is brainy, uptight, and reserved, while Farrah takes after Lee, an alluring, uninhibited, and seemingly vapid blonde. It would seem that for the parents, the notion of “opposite attracts” is what brought them together, but for the two sisters,...

Subject: Benicio Monserrate Rafael del Toro Sánchez (a.k.a., Benicio del Toro), 42-year-old Puerto Rican actor
Date of Assessment: February 12, 2010
Positive Buzzwords: Subtle, restrained, captivating
Negative Buzzwords: Mumbling, marble-mouth, mrrphhh
The Case: I'll be totally honest here and admit that I was pretty late to latch onto the Benicio del Toro phenomenon. He never really registered on my radar for his role in Big Top Peewee or while playing a James Bond villain (the youngest one in history) in License to Kill, and neither of these films were exactly worth re-exploring for the purposes for this column. It suffices to say that, when I first took notice of Benicio, it was when he starred opposite Alicia Silverstone in the ill-conceived caper Excess Baggage. Boy, did I feel sorry for him, but the fellow did make an impression (even over an unusually lackluster Christopher Walken) as the only salvageable aspect of the movie.

I could start out in the most obvious and typical way by asking you if you’ve ever had a boss you hate. A boss you’d love to tell off, or, dare I say… a boss you yearn to see bad things happen to? Well, that’s not what I’m going to do.
