Revolving around two things many of us know all too well, neighbours from hell and writer’s block, Destroy All Neighbors is an over-the-top exercise in splatstick from director Josh Forbes and writers Mike Benner, Jared Logan and Charles A. Pieper.
William Brown makes his living as a sound engineer at Industrial Sound & Magic, helping to bring other people’s music to life. Currently, it’s the obnoxious Caleb Bang Jansen, “Emerson, Lake and Palmer? It sounds like Emerson getting buttfucked by Lake and Palmer.”
But when it comes to his own Prog Rock album, he’s stuck in a rut. While his girlfriend Emily believes in him, everyone else around him seems to exist only to stifle his efforts.

Actors Alex Winter and Jonah Ray Rodrigues face off as new neighbors in Shudder’s splatter-comedy Destroy All Neighbors, and it’s safe to say that the confrontation escalates to a lethal, gory degree.
In Destroy All Neighbors, Rodrigues stars as William Brown, a neurotic, self-absorbed musician easily distracted from his prog-rock ambitions by an apartment building full of eclectic neighbors. That includes the noisy and grotesque Vlad (Winter), who just moved in next door. When an accidental murder ensues, William’s unwitting reign of terror causes victims to pile up and become undead corpses that further derail his journey toward prog-rock Valhalla.
Contracted: Phase II’s Josh Forbes directed Destroy All Neighbors from a screenplay by Charles Pieper and Jared Logan, with story by Pieper and Mike Benner, and the splatter-comedy arrives on Shudder on January 12, 2024.

It's been nearly forty years, but people still remember "The A-Team." The action adventure series went on for five seasons, but stuck around in the public consciousness for much, much longer. People still remember the theme song, the cartoonish violence, the catchphrases. But although many viewers throughout the 2000s wanted a revival of the show, the TV series itself never came back.
Instead, we got a feature film in 2010 starring an updated A-Team, with the characters being veterans of the Iraq War instead of veterans of Vietnam. The film underperformed at the box office, however, and they never made a sequel. Unlike "21 Jump Street," a franchise where the later movies have now long-since overshadowed the TV show for most younger viewers, when people of all ages today think of "The A-Team," they're still almost certainly thinking of the show.
So what have the cast members been up to since...

By the time Evan Rachel Wood made Thirteen, she had already spent nearly a decade as a child actor, with regular or recurring roles on three TV series, along with appearances in six TV movies and five theatrical films, including Practical Magic and the Al Pacino movie Simone. But when the script for Thirteen came along, it was unlike anything Wood had ever done — it was an edgy teen movie filled with all kinds of bad behavior. At the time of the movie’s release in 2003, Wood admitted she’d had reservations about making the movie, until she met with director/co-writer Catherine Hardwicke.(Click on the media bar below to hear Evan Rachel Wood) https://www.hollywoodoutbreak.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Evan_Rachel_Wood_Thireen_.mp3

It's heartbreaking to think of all the movies that never made it to the screen. We keep hearing stories of projects collecting dust, incomplete due to unexpected tragedy, or a lack of funds, or a greedy studio executive cutting corners for tax purposes. But every now and then, a long-dead film is exhumed from the grave and is given new life to be enjoyed by a new generation of fans. Case in point: The Primevals, a fantasy adventure more than 50 years in the making that finally got to celebrate its world premiere at this year's Fantasia Film Festival.
The Primevals was first conceived in 1967 by stop motion animator David Allen, whose credits include the adult parody Flesh Gordon, Larry Cohen's Q – the Winged Serpent, and Alex Winter's Freaked. For more than a decade, an early draft of the script was shopped around to various studios, until 1978 when...

Chicago – In a manifestation of his most famous catchphrase, filmmaker Alex Winter, also known as Bill of “Bill & Ted” fame, wants us to “be excellent to each other” when it comes to our interaction on a certain online video sharing website. He ponders all the implications in his new documentary “The YouTube Effect.”
Rating: 4.0/5.0
In a stylish and vital breakdown regarding the growth of YouTube, owned by Google (which is not well known), Winter tells a story of a noble 2005 origin aspiration that lost its way due to its sheer popularity, and is now dangerously used for propagating radicalism and affecting elections. Google is the number one most searched website in the world. Number two? YouTube … and they’re both owned by the same business. Using a stylish palette, director Winter tells a cautionary tale, that could explode into a “it may be too late” scenario. While Facebook and Twitter...

In a New York Times interview marking the 20th anniversary of their film Freaky Friday, Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis let it slip that they’re in talks for a sequel. While nothing’s set in stone yet, it’s looking like there’s a real possibility that the pair may return to their roles sometime in the not-too-distant future. Of course, their version of Freaky Friday was a remake of the 1976 original, which starred a young Jodie Foster. Speaking at the time the remake opened, Lohan told us she felt plenty of pressure filling such legendary shoes, but she was Ok with that. “You’ve never seen Catherine Hardwicke like this before” might as well be emblazoned on any and all marketing materials for the director’s diverse projects. From “Thirteen” to “Twilight,” “Red Riding Hood” to “The Nativity Story,” Hardwicke is constantly shifting gears, changing tones, mixing it up.
Since the breakout success of both Sundance award-winner “Thirteen” and the first “Twilight” film (a massive smash by any metric), Hardwicke has continued to evolve, even in an industry not always welcoming to women with big dreams. As she readies to debut her latest, the Toni Collette-starring fish-out-of-water comedy “Mafia Mamma,” Hardwicke is still pushing forward, even when it’s not easy. That’s just who she is.
“We still need that light to get shined a little brighter and put a little bit more attention on women’s films,” Hardwicke said during a recent Zoom interview with IndieWire. “We’re still fighting.

Actor/filmmaker Alex Winter makes his return to the director’s chair with The Adults, an upcoming murder-mystery film announced by Deadline.
Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld), Josh Gad (Avenue 5) and Anthony Carrigan (Barry) will be starring in The Adults, with Alex Winter also expected to act in the movie as well.
The film “follows siblings Megan (Wood) and Nathan (Gad), who are barely hanging on in present-day America, like all of us. Their lives are completely upended when they discover a dead body, long buried in their parent’s basement, sending them down a rabbit hole of crime and murder.”
Michael M.B. Galvin (Freak Talks About Sex) wrote the script.
Winter will produce alongside Scott Kroopf of Many Rivers Productions and Russell Hollander, with Connie Tavel serving as exec producer.

"I just feel, perpetually, like I'm out of my own comfort zone." Another excellent short that is worth your time to watch. Alex's Dream is a 9-minute short film written and directed by British actor Jack Cooper Stimpson. It originally premiered in 2018 and is now available online to watch thanks to Short of the Week. Alex Lawther stars as Alex, a young man who arrives uninvited to a party and after a set of excruciating interactions with other guests, is forced to recount a memorable dream he's had about being on a fishing boat. The film is described by Stimpson as "a meditation on oneiric experience in cinema, mental health, talking dogs and fishermen." The short also stars Emma Corrin, Chris New, Sam Haygarth, and Simon Manyonda. There's some fascinating nuance in this short, and heaps of uncomfortable anxiety. Lawther is also so incredibly talented. Thanks to ...

Sarah Paulson is already a Golden Globe winner for “The People v. O.J. Simpson” and now she’s on track to receive another nomination, this time for Netflix’s “Ratched.” She’s one of the top five contenders for Best TV Drama Actress, according to Gold Derby’s predictions, along with Olivia Colman (“The Crown”), Laura Linney (“Ozark”), Jurnee Smollett (“Lovecraft Country”) and Jodie Comer (“Killing Eve”). But Paulson possesses a secret weapon the other leading ladies don’t have: Ryan Murphy.

Zappa is an intimate look into the innovative life and eclectic works of Frank Zappa, the composer. The Beatles, Brian Wilson, and Syd Barrett’s Pink Floyd pushed boundaries of what rock could do in the mid-1960s, but Zappa ignored any preconceived compositional restraint. He mixed rock with classical, jazz with chamber, and twelve-tone with Spike Jones. From his 1966 proto-punk, garage band debut, Freak Out, through the immediate experimental turns he took on Lumpy Gravy, We’re Only In it for the Money, and continuing through his career, Zappa’s music sounds unlike any other sonic unit.
Not only was Zappa a unique composer and bandleader, he was a ground-breaking film director, an innovative theatrical presence, and a voice of rebellion in worlds beyond music and the arts. His politics were far ahead of their time, and his critiques of society resonate strongly to this day. A vast majority...

For the first time since its debut in 2011, “American Horror Story” was not a part of FX’s fall TV schedule. We know, we know — that’s even scarier than seeing Twisty the Clown at your birthday party. “AHS” Season 10 was supposed to begin filming in Spring 2020, but then the coronavirus pandemic began flaring up in the United States so production was understandably delayed. Thus, the premiere date will now be sometime in 2021, FX has confirmed. While we’re still waiting on official word on the season’s spooky theme, the cast list has been unveiled.
Here’s everything to know about “American Horror Story” Season 10. Bookmark this page as we’ll be updating when new information is revealed.

This story about Alex Winter first appeared in the college issue of TheWrap magazine.
Before Alex Winter played Bill S. Preston, Esq. in “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure,” “Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey” and the recent “Bill & Ted Face the Music,” and before he directed a string of documentaries that include “Napster,” “Showbiz Kids” and the upcoming “Zappa,” he was an NYU film student struggling to pay his way through school.
But as an experienced child actor, Winter paid the bills by appearing in lots of commercials, doing voiceover work and even making the occasional movie.
During his freshman year in 1983, Winter also met fellow student Tom Stern, with whom he’d direct films all through school and into his professional life afterward. The summit of their NYU work was “Squeal of Death,” a 15-minute short about a hapless, squawking criminal that Winter describes as “a magnum opus of insanity.

While the cast and crew of “American Horror Story” are gearing up for Season 10, which is scheduled to begin filming in October, one person who’s not busy memorizing her lines is Frances Conroy. That’s because the legendary actress wasn’t asked back for this 2020 cycle … though we’re still hoping she’ll pop up as a guest star. (See the Season 10 cast list.) With the coronavirus pandemic keeping us all at homes watching reruns of FX’s anthology series, it’s the perfect time to look back at Conroy’s contributions to the franchise. Below, we’ve ranked all six of her “American Horror Story” characters from worst to best — does Your #1 choice match ours?
Conroy is a six-time Emmy nominee for “Six Feet Under”, “AHS: Murder House” (2012) and “AHS: Coven” (2014). Whether she’s cleaning up deadly secrets as a ghostly maid or defying death at the stake as a red-haired witch,...

A voice actor on Adult Swim’s “Squidbillies” who was fired Sunday for “derogatory” and “offensive” Facebook posts went off on the makers of the cartoon series Tuesday, writing, “I just hope you assholes are happy.”
“Folks, I’ve been fired from my Cartoon Show, lost my endorsements and my chance of ever being booked by any Music Venue as Unknown Hinson again,” wrote Stuart Baker, who goes by the stage name Unknown Hinson and has voiced the character Early Cuyler on “Squidbillies” since 2005, wrote in a since-deleted post, according to TVLine.

Netflix can sometimes be a bit hit and miss when it comes to movies, but some new additions have proved unexpectedly strong this past week and here are the highlights.
The big one last week was Project Power, the streaming service’s take on the all-encompassing zeitgeist of superpowers. A police officer, a teenage drug dealer and a vengeful man form various sides of the investigation into a new drug that affords its users temporary superhuman abilities, along with those behind its creation.
Safety Not Guaranteed also landed last week and is a quirky mix of humor, romance and sci-fi that got Colin Trevorrow noticed and subsequently the job of directing Jurassic World. A trio of journalists are assigned to investigate a newspaper advert (remember them?) asking for companions for a journey back in time, and discover a paranoid but rational man whose mission sparks meditations on regret for past...

So what can we say that we learned about Ratched? Well, it’s going to look a lot like American Horror Story in a way considering the look and feel of it, and of course, the fact that Nurse Ratched would have likely been quite at home in a couple of seasons of AHS, namely Asylum and quite possibly Freak Show. But with Sarah Paulson as the lead in the series, it’s likely that this might even play out that way since one can state with all honesty that she’s a talented and gifted actress, but when digging a little deeper

Margaret Booth is nominated for an Emmy … sort of.
When the 2020 nominations were announced on July 28, “American Horror Story: 1984” found itself with four bids, including two for makeup. The Emmy ballot goes into detail about all the hard work that went into the show’s makeup, including for the character of Margaret (Leslie Grossman), who memorably slices off her own ear. Alas, the actress herself was snubbed, but at least the makeup teams were recognized for crafting the grotesque scene.
This ninth season of FX’s horror anthology series aired last September-November and told the story of traumatized campers at the hauntingly tubular Camp Redwood. Besides its pair of makeup bids, “Ahs: 1984” also earned nominations for sound editing and sound mixing. The winners of these four Emmy categories will be announced at the Creative Arts ceremony in September. (See details on “American Horror Story” Season 10.)

Bill and Ted are officially back!
Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves suited up as their slightly dim-witted characters once again in a new shot from the upcoming Bill & Ted Face the Music, which revives the popular franchise 19 years after its sequel, Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey.
The shot shows Reeves’ Ted and Winter’s Bill all dressed up in colorful suits at what looks like a wedding with several instruments behind them.
Face the Music reconnects with the now-middle-aged best friends as they set out on a new time-traveling adventure to seek the song that will restore harmony to the universe.

Fans of “American Horror Story” agree Frances Conroy is the show’s secret weapon, with a versatility that ranges from a witty fashionista to the Angel of Death. There is a quiet intensity to many of Conroy’s performances that makes her one of the show’s most captivating cast members. It all began in Season 1 with Moira O’Hara, a ghost maid who appears as her seductive younger self to straight men with wandering eyes while presenting as herself to everyone else. She earned an Emmy nomination for the role, ultimately losing to her onscreen sparring partner Jessica Lange. Check out our photo gallery above to see all of Conroy’s “Ahs” characters ranked worst to best.

Academy Award winner Kathy Bates has become a staple of FX’s “American Horror Story,” especially after the exit of fellow Oscar winner Jessica Lange. Bates first appeared alongside Lange in the third season of “American Horror Story,” titled “Coven,” as racist socialite Delphine Lalaurie. The monstrous role won her a Primetime Emmy Award, defeating two of her co-stars in the process. The actress returned for Season 4, “Freak Show,” where she played bearded lady with a Baltimore accent, Ethel Darling. Evan Peters, alongside Sarah Paulson, has become a staple of the “American Horror Story” franchise to the point that it was jarring to see him not appear in the show’s most recent season, “1984.” Audiences first obsessed over Peters’ presence in the first year of “Ahs” as Tate Langdon, a sociopathic teen with a sensitive side, especially when it came to his love for Violet (Taissa Farmiga). In the next three seasons, we would see Peters portray misunderstood characters like inmate Kit Walker in “Asylum,” frat boy-turned-Frankenstein creation Kyle Spencer in “Coven,” and freak show performer Jimmy Darling in “Freak Show.” Tour our photos above to see all of Peters’ “Ahs” characters ranked worst to best.

The celebration for David Lynch’s birthday is continuing all week long. Following the surprise release of his 17-minute short film What Did Jack Do?, one of his seminal classics has been restored.
His masterfully crafted adaptation of The Elephant Man is a more subdued outing from the idiosyncratic auteur than his usual catalog but is no less of a masterpiece than his other features. Many actors have survived the intensity of Hollywood fame with second careers, but few have followed a trajectory as fascinating as Alex Winter’s. After skyrocketing to stardom as Bill S. Preston opposite Keanu Reeves in 1989’s “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure” and its 1991 sequel, Winter grew disillusioned with the movie business. He grew sick of the pressures of the spotlight and, as he would reveal decades later, still contended with trauma of sexual assault experienced in his childhood. But Winter escaped through twin obsessions that would form his career: filmmaking and the internet.
Nearly 25 years after Winter gave up on professional acting, he’s enjoying a new life as a serious documentarian, with movies that untangle some of the thorniest questions surrounding modern technology. Following the Napster-focused “Downloaded” and the dark web portrait “Deep Web,” Winter has completed two new documentaries that reveal the intensity of his obsessions.

When John Wick came out in 2014, I wasn't crazy about Keanu Reeves' performance in it. But it all clicked for me with John Wick 2, and you can read more about that revelation in my review of the movie. In honor of that film's release, Burger Fiction has put together one of their "evolution of" videos that traces Reeves' career from his early movies all the way up to today. A positive note: It's crazy how young he still looks after all of these years. A negative note: the dude can not do accents to save his life. And what the heck are Little Buddha and Freaked? I've never heard of those in my life, and they look completely insane. I might have to check those out just for the sheer Wtf factor.
