A sad decline
ian mcleod17 February 2002
Oh, my God, this show was such a breath of fresh air when it started. I never got a chance to see "Breakfast Time" on FX, but according to those who know, "FOX After Breakfast" was a worthy successor... until Vicki Lawrence was thrust in there for no good reason. Not that I have anything against her, but why not shut down rather than morph the show into another generic talk show?

Show was OK

Fox After Breakfast was a good unique morning show, but was a poor transition show from Fox's cable network FX. While on FX, the show was three hours, and was a news/entertainment show that you could watch as you were getting ready for work. I would also watch it re-run on weekends when I had more time. Re-working and moving to Fox was the show's death. The shorter "lite" version was more entertainment than news, and they could not do as much in a shorter time. While hosts Laurie and Tom were still great, there was not as much input from the roving reports, who really helped make the show great. Glad to see everyone has seemed to move on to other things though.
