There's a rumour that the series was quietly cancelled after the second series due to pressure from the real British Ambassador to Ireland, as it was making their diplomatic duties difficult.
The building that was used as the interior and exterior for the British Embassy in the series, was actually owned by the Knights of Columbanus. The building is located on Ely Place in Dublin, close to St Stephen's Green and Merrion Square. The interiors of the stairwell, Ambassador's Embassy office, and the blue walled Embassy meeting room are on its first floor. The only obvious set dressing to the exterior was the British Flag, and the Glass inner front door with the British Crest on it.
Series Creator Russell Lewis would later create the "Inspector Morse" prequel series "Endeavour" for ITV.
