Do you have nightmares about Bill Lumbergh telling you to put new cover sheets on your Tps reports? For some, the corporate cubicle setting is as horrifying as the creepy boiler rooms that Freddy Krueger haunts in the A Nightmare on Elm Street movies. Script excerpts and storyboards for an imagined tenth film in the Elm Street franchise show Freddy tormenting a coma patient by placing him in a mind-numbing office environment where meaningless meetings, tear-inducing small talk, and countless hours of hellish tasks reign supreme, with no escape in sight. Also included in our latest round-up are Blu-ray / DVD release details and cover art for the Salma Hayek-starring Everly and information on the 20 recently announced Star Wars books that will take place in the time period between Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens.

I would absolutely love to get a look at the financials when it comes to what studio films make at the box office versus what they bring home in licensing. For many I'm sure there isn't all that much that comes from licensing, but when you get into today's big franchise features the story begins to shift and perhaps the largest of all-time is Star Wars. George Lucas created a merchandising empire with his sci-fi series and it is now in the hands of the only successor able to carry on as if nothing has changed, Disney. Word out of Entertainment Weekly is that Disney is already prepping a new book series titled "Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens", which will bridge the gap between Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi and the forthcoming Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, leading up to the film's December 18 release.

You just have to love Donald Sutherland’s voice, it’s almost as unmistakable as the fumes from your morning coffee rising into your nostrils. Father to the equally successful and unmistakable Kiefer Sutherland, Donald is no stranger to the world of Hollywood and aside from having some of the most recognisable vocal cords in cinema today, the guy is a damn good actor too. With a career spanning over fifty years worth of film roles, Sutherland has utilised his talents for more varied types of roles than you can shake a stick at.
From the undeniably brilliant Don’t Look Now, a supernatural film that explores the themes of loss and grief to the science fiction epic classic that is Invasion Of The Body Snatchers (a pretty self-explanatory title if ever we’ve seen one), Sutherland is undoubtedly near the top of the list where versatility is concerned.

Lots of films are dedicated to, or in memory of someone. But it's not always clear why. We've been finding out...
Back when Breaking Bad returned for its final batch of episodes in August 2013, it had a dedication at the end of it. The card read 'Dedicated to our friend Kevin Cordasco'. As it turned out, Kevin Cordasco was a 16-year old who had been battling cancer for seven years, who had met both Bryan Cranston and Vince Gilligan. Cordasco died before he could ever get to see the episode dedicated to him.
I found this such a moving story, that it got me wondering about the dedications that appear on films, and what the story behind them was. After all, the dedications are there for a reason. What I uncovered was some funny stories, mainly extremely sad ones, and some extremely moving dedications.

When you see that crazy French filmmaker Luc Besson is involved with a movie, you know you're in for something giddy, energetic, over-the-top, completely ludicrous, crazy, and French. About 80 percent of the time -- The Fifth Element, The Transporter, District B13, etc. -- it's highly entertaining, too.
From Paris with Love falls -- nay, plummets, head first, screaming -- into that category. Besson is only credited with the story (the screenplay is by Adi Hasak, who wrote the forgotten 1997 Charlie Sheen thriller Shadow Conspiracy), but the "story" is an insane conglomeration of twists and turns from a hundred espionage pictures. The film has Besson's Euro-cheesy scent all over it: the gleefully wanton violence, the performances that are somewhere between campy and cool, the dialogue that sounds like it was written in another language and translated inexpertly into English. Besson, who is also the film's producer, is like Michael Bay, only with style and wit.

John Travolta and Jonathan Rhys Meyers in From Paris With Love
Photo: Lionsgate There's no logic, rhyme or reason to much of what happens in Pierre Morel's From Paris with Love, his kinetic shoot 'em up actioner released almost exactly one year after his nearly $150 million 2009 hit Taken. And as much as I enjoyed Taken for its absurd-yet-entertaining action, From Paris with Love is an even more enjoyable film thanks primarily to John Travolta's willingness to go full tilt, making up for the distraction that is Jonathan Rhys Meyers's attempt at an American accent. Morel knows how to handle this kind of over-the-top story and the dialogue is entertaining enough it rarely allows you the opportunity to take a deeper look at what's really going on, which is to say not all the pieces necessarily fit together.

Pierre Morel's follow up to the sleeper smash Taken is another Europacorp produced action machine. From Paris With Love stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers as an embassy worker and John Travolta as a spy, thrown together by some apparent misunderstanding and charged with smashing, crashing and all-round actioneering in order to thwart a terrorist threat in the French capital. Check out the trailer for yourself after the break. I think the Europacorp action factory, which has produced everything from the original Taxi and its sequels through to the District 13 films, and typically with a script at least co-written by Luc Besson, is pretty dependable in delivering nice, solid b-movie style action shenanigans. Hopefully From Paris With Love will be no different. Besson is here credited as a co-writer alongside Adi Hasak, previously credited with George P. Cosmatos' Shadow Conspiracy. This trailer appears below. function getVideo() { var so = new SWFObject("http://cdn.
