It's actually not as bad as it look.
jonathanhudon19 February 2018
It's even better than this awfull Hulk Hogan movie 'Mr. Nanny' with a very similar plot. Sure the actors are certainly no 'Oscar worthy' containder but at least they try and it's a honest comedy for a midnight film if you are REALLY bored...

Not as Bad One Might Think
luvsbordercollie17 April 2001
This movie starts out looking like a big stinker and for the first half hour or so it is. Then it suddenly falls into place. It stops being about The Falcone Brothers (Peter and David Paul) flexing and starts being a touching story of orphaned twins (Christian and Joseph Cousins, superb as always) coming to terms with their situation. Worth renting, but probably not worth owning.

Twin Sitters
BandSAboutMovies8 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Man, I really will watch anything. Case in point, I have watched nearly every movie that The Barbarian Brothers David and Petter Paul made. The Barbarians? Loved it. D. C Cab? Own the blu ray. Double Trouble? It's on the site later today.

Identical twins who were gigantic hunks of beef in the days when size meant everything, they somehow got to make a whole bunch of movies that I alone enjoy. I mean, if this comes out on blu ray, I better be doing the commentary along with the surviving Peter Paul. I have so many questions of him.

Peter and David play, well, Peter and David Falcone. They're also identical twin brother waiters who want to open their own restaurant. They save the life of a man who is going into witness protection, asking him to keep his twin nephews Bradley and Steven (Christian and Joseph Cousins, who played Dominic in Kindergarten Cop) out of trouble. However, those kids are going to destroy our heroes.

Yet stop - this was directed and written by John Paragon, the man who was Jambi the Genie, Pterri the Pterodactyl, the sex shop worker in Eating Raoul, a Walt Disney Imagineer, a partner of Elvira and The Breather on her KHJ-TV series, a Groundling and even the director of ten episodes of Silk Stalkings. So yeah, another obsession.

And yep. Paul Bartel shows up. Of course he does.

George Lazenby too.

I really think this movie was created for me and me alone. So thank you, forces of the universe. You have infinitely upset me as of late, but I will take this gift from you and look to better days.

One of the worst/best movies ever!
TWO-SHAY6 June 2000
This movie is definitely funny, but not on it's own right. The fact is, this movie is absolutely terrible! Starring the Barbarian bros., the only reason one could have for watching this movie is to make fun of how moronic it is. However, although the movie is one of the worst I've ever seen, sometimes I give credit where credit isn't due. I believe this movie is worth watching simply because it's so unintentionally HELARIOUS. Five stars out of five!

Awful
qdixon-649-7179213 August 2010
OK I don't know who the idiots were in the other reviews that rated this movie 10 of 10 but most likely it was the director and Barbarian Bothers.

I honestly wanted to pluck my eyes out, make myself deaf and then shoot myself in the head.

Save yourself the hour and a half of life you wont get back. Acting was terrible and I am very surprised that people would be involved in making something like this.

I only write this review now because this type of crap is making it's way back onto TV recently. I guess you can show anything on TV if the price is right.

All hail Peter & David Paul!
udar558 March 2009
The Barbarian Brothers (Peter and David Paul) are hired by a wealthy businessman (Jared Martin) to look after his twin nephews while he testifies against his evil boss (JAMES BOND himself, George Lazenby). Do you think the older twins will be able to handle the younger twins? Hijinks aplenty! It says something sad about me when I get a package from someone that includes MULHOLLAND DRIVE and EMMANUELLE movies and this is what I watch first. Hey, at least I didn't watch the movie where Gary Busey is reincarnated as a dog...yet. Believe it or not, the Barbarian Brothers are actually funny in this movie. Of course, it is as goofy as a later ERNEST flick. How can you not love a movie that opens with Paul Bartel getting linguini all over his face? And you get former American GLADIATOR Nitro as one of the villains. And monster trucks and stunt choreography by Spirio Razatos! Oh how I would kill to see the Barbarian Brothers take on the McNamara twins (of TWIN DRAGON ENCOUNTER fame). Female lead Rena Sofer really hit a career low a few years later, co-starring in a very unsuccessful Fox TV show called 24 (!).

Worse than cheesy. SPoilers included

Warning: Spoilers
ok, let's start with the premise. Twin body builders, baby-sitting twin spoiled brats. Still wanna see it? You might like to know that 3 others sets of twins join up with the body builders to fight a terrorist/business/oil giant/whatever. i counted 5 sets of twins in all, how many can you spot?

more seriously now, this is truly one of the worst films ever.1/2*

A Masterpiece of 90's Cinema! A+!
Plevvit28 November 2004
THIS is the best 90's comedy EVER made! I challenge you to find a better movie than this. The Barbarian Brothers are at their acting peak as Peter and David Falconi, two musclebound twins who are fired from their job as waiters at the world's most disgusting Italian restaurant. They try to get a bank loan (unsuccessfully) and are bemoaning their loss in a local park when three gangsters try to shoot a local shipping tycoon (played by John Paragon) who's decided to inform on his nefarious bosses' activities. Anyways, the Brothers save all the kids from the snipers, and become local heroes--and get a NEW job, working for shipping tycoon as the babysitters for his twin nephews, Bradley and Stephen. Bradley & Stephen are the world's most uptight preppy blond identical brats, and so the Barbarians face the considerable challenge of enlightening them to the wisdom of pasta, funky-ass clothes, and riding around in their monster truck. The Barbarians fall in love with Stephen and Bradley's tutor (who looks like Jennifer Connely) and end up duking it out with the bad guys. THE TWINSITTERS DRINKING GAME: take a shot every time the Butler drops a tray! I dare you!

Funny stuff
BWozniak11 December 2002
A great movie for all ages, especially for people with a goofy sense of humor. The Barbarion Brothers act like big kids throughout the whole movie, always putting jokes first. One of the funniest things about this movie is the brothers' outfits, kinda like a mix of David Lee Roth and The Ultimate Warrior, but even weirder then that. Can't help but laugh at em, for one scene David is wearing a phone cord with a sign on it! This is probably my fave Barbarion Brothers movie, and their last one! (come on guys make a new movie, please!)

When the film starts the brothers are trying to save up money to open a restaraunt, until they get hired to babysit two twin boys. From then on its pretty much a bunch of funny mishaps and adventures trying to get along with the twin kids, a few fight scenes with the bad guys, and the bros driving their monster truck. I always crack up at the scene where the brothers first get their big paycheck, and they totally lose it like little kids, jumping and givin high fives, yellin "MONEEEEY!" There's actually a lot of great scenes. Also of note are the songs the Barbarion Brothers wrote for this movie, they are really funny. This has got to be one of my favorite comedies ever, really goofy, but if you're only into serious movies, I'd say watch it anyway to see adult bodybuilders act like funny kids! It'll cheer you up for sure.

We're the Babysitters!

It's another one of these movies which was supposed to be great, but ended up being so bad that it kind of looped around, going back to being great. That is, if you like really, really, really, REALLY bad movies.

A riotous romp.
p.newhouse@talk21.com26 December 2013
Warning: Spoilers
As a collector who often gets asked to recommend films, this is one I often suggest as great family viewing. It has comedy with broad appeal, tongue in cheek dialogue, the occasional high-octane explosion or over-the-top comedic fight scene, and no bad language. If the actors were taking themselves seriously, this movie would not be worth a second's viewing, but all of the stars send themselves or their characters up, with the effect that this is a riotous romp across Los Angeles, but with a well inserted message of love, warmth, and mutual reliance, whether it be brothers depending on each other, the importance of family, or the need to look after the brotherhood of man. The kids will enjoy the slapstick and the smart kid characters, and they won't know they're being educated through entertainment, and the adults can enjoy the asides.

All this in a movie that stars James Bond and Pontius Pilate!

Two by two.
kelvinselimor18 August 2022
Twin Sitters. Two by two. Return to childhood with this comedy is guaranteed. Peter and David, as always, are beautiful, and their outfits deserve an Oscar.
