I've seen a decent handful of Davian's films-most of which are pretty notable on some level or another. He's done everything from crime/thrillers to sleazy roughies-and most that I've seen are better than average. FETISHES OF MONIQUE-while not the worst in a long line of lame 'classic' porn films-definitely isn't anywhere near the best either...
The plot is about a female doctor who has concocted a serum for everlasting life-and of course sex. 'Patients' drink the serum and bone a lot. A reporter and photographer who interview the doctor steal a sample of the serum- they drink it-and they bone a lot too. When the doctor discovers that the reporter and photog plan to ruin the experiments-the doctor and her assistant kidnap the reporter and...you guessed it...they bone her a lot as well (while amusingly smacking her in the legs with foam nunchucks). The doctor and her assistant end up overdosing on the serum and die. The End.
Even though FETISHES OF MONIQUE was obviously a quickly made film and done on the cheap-Davian still manages to throw in a decent amount of relatively arousing sex in what otherwise could have been a real waste of film. Again, nothing truly notable-the sex scenes are decent enough if not particularly interesting or sleazy (although there is one scene where a 'patient' is f!cked until her puss starts bleeding...), and the plot is also neither very sleazy (though it does have a few moments) nor particularly interesting-but not a total loss due to Davian's eye for the pink stuff...5/10
