Pearry Teo’s Bedlam Stories has been in gestation for almost a year under the guidance of director/producer/writer Pearry under his TeoWard Productions banner. Inspired by the fairytales we all know but with a much darker twist, Bedlam Stories is:
“Set in the 1920s, [as] intrepid reporter Nelly Bly fakes insanity to gain admission into the infamous Bedlam Asylum. While researching her expose, Nellie meets a young patient, Dorothy, who has delusions of a fantasy land she calls “Oz.” Digging deeper into the dark history of the asylum, Nellie uncovers evidence of human experimentation on another inmate, a young girl named Alice, who’s “Wonderland” mirrored Dorothy’s imaginary world. Sony Pictures has just purchased the U.S. video and TV rights to the hit UK comedy remake - St. Trinian's from independent film distributor NeoClassics Films.
NeoClassics, who acquired U.S. rights to "St. Trinian's" from Ealing Studios, will be distributing the film theatrically in the U.S. this summer.
The film is a remake of the 1950s Ealing classic "The Belles of St. Trinian's" and stars Colin Firth, Rupert Everett, Russell Brand, Gemma Arterton, Lena Headey, Caterina Murino and Stephen Fry.
Directed by Oliver Parker and Barnaby Thompson, "St. Trinian's" tells the twisted story of a dysfunctional British girls' boarding school and its equally twisted parents, teachers and administrators. The film reached proved popular during it's UK release, grossing more than £15 million in it's theatrical run.
Ealing Studios has announced it will produce a sequel this summer, "St. Trinian's II: The Legend of Fritton's Gold."

- Though small, the horror-fantasy flick section packs a punch with notable standouts including Michael Haneke and George A. Romero preeming their latest and Quentin Tarantino making a comeback. I believe it has been a long time since he showed his face here... not since film called Reservoir Dogs. Though he didn't direct the project titled Hell Ride - this collaboration between him and Larry Bishop once again ventures into "homage territory". Serving as a launch pad for Magnolia Pictures, we find the new label Magnet Releasing showcasing of Spanish flick Timecrimes.
