"Excuse Me, My Mind Is Not Working!"...
Surly rocket scientist, Dr. Bragan (James Craig) spends most of his time carrying on like the furious madman he is. He has big dreams. He also needs a rest, before his head sails clean off his neck!
So, Bragan heads for Japan, where he can study the flora and fauna, while taking in the sights. Inspired to no end, Bragan begins his top secret experiments in an old, abandoned hotel, while he yells and yells.
BEST PARTS: #1- Bragan's encounter with the snake-handling gas station owner! "Hyuk! Hyuk! Hyuk!", he chortles! #2- The falling boulders and other objects that nearly kill Bragan, but don't bother / dissuade him one bit! #3- The inane absurdity of the subject of Bragan's experiments!
The main problem with BODY OF THE PREY is how long it takes it to get to the point. It meanders along, growing a beard, while the viewer develops armchair arthritis! Thankfully, this allows plenty of time for Bragan to howl and scream at his lovely female assistant, both in the lab and on their endless sightseeing trips! At one point, for some unknown reason, Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor is played. Don't worry though, none of the music belongs anywhere in particular! Movies don't get more brain-pulverizing than this!
P. S.- Watch for the topless female divers, obviously tossed in for unnecessary nudity!...
