Naked Sighs
movieman_kev30 January 2004
Shannon Tweed is Cara, an FBI agent who kills a kid by accident within the first 5 minutes, broods in it a full 5 minutes before going on an undercover job to bust a counterfit operation. I keep hoping that if I see enough Skinamax-type movies, that I'll find a diamond in the rough. Alas, this film is NOT that diamond. Not even enough sex scenes to keep you awake through this dreck. My Grade: D-

Where i saw it: TMC-on-demand

INSTEAD of this watch: "Hard Hunted" or ANY Andy Sidaris movie

Uh...is there a plot here?

We've all been in the situation in which we wake up at 1:00 AM and decide to channel surf, and come across cheezy B-movies (many of them direct to video) on late-night cable. The films' scenarios are always the same--a degrading graphic sexual situation every five minutes (and to fill the ten second non-sexual voids, a shower scene), but the label of "pornography" is pathetically covered with some weak plot (that is never followed, due to the heavy reliance on nudity). "Naked Lies" is no exception. To be honest with you, I find nothing special about this film; I just got fed up with all of the kinds of movies I just described and decided to bash the first one I saw on a late-night cable. --Bud Sturguess, Texas, USA

Fairly well-made, if slow-paced, thriller
gridoon16 October 2006
The more you want to see Shannon Tweed in an action role (as opposed to a strictly seduce-the-men-and-take-your-clothes-off role), the more you are likely to enjoy "Naked Lies". Tweed proves once again that she is quite adept at handling martial arts scenes, and even if her face shows signs of aging, her body is still in great shape for a woman in her forties. The film is competently made (especially for a DTV project) and well-produced, shot on scenic Mexican locations. The main problems are the often slow pace, some gratuitous sex scenes (it's supposed to be an action thriller, not an erotic one....I think), and a disappointingly actionless climax. (**)

Another erotic thriller that's not erotic or thrilling
charlottesweb2 January 2001
Another in the continuing expanding library of erotic thrillers starring Canadian Shannon Tweed. I can't remember the plot but Tweed - by 1997 the executive producer of this tale of a DEA team - manages to get some other girls to do most of the stripping. She does though get a brief shower scene (it's in the contract) and a short time from the end her famous beach ball breasts get kissed and she moves slowly up and down in some guy's lap. What a turn on.
