- A man tells a woman to stay away from the frozen food section because her boobs might harden.
- Sonny says, "oh, you want some of this?"
- When Julian asks for a nightlight, Sonny brings in an arrow-shaped neon sign that says: "Live Nudes."
- There are references to tassels & strippers. Hooters is referenced several times and there are several people wearing shirts with the logo, including a child.
- Two men French kiss at surprise party
- We see Vanessa get out of Sonny's bed in the morning. As she then gets dressed, we see her in her bra briefly.
- There are two references to testicles.
Violence & Gore

- A kid hits a guy in the leg with a piece of wood.
- Sonny puts a stick out in the path of an in-line skater, causing them to trip and fall. Later, Julian, having learned this from Sonny, does the same thing.
- Sonny gives Julian a slingshot and some marbles to play with and Julian runs off, its later shown that Julian accidentally killed a bunch of pigeons with it, but it is only seen from far away for a few seconds and it's not gory, its shown in a humorous manner.

- Most of the language is said by Sonny, sometimes in front of Julian. Julian says "Ass" at least four times and "Goddamn" once (when copying another character)
- 11 uses of "shit", 17 uses of "ass", 5 uses of "hell", 3 uses of "goddamn", 6 uses of "damn", 1 use of "dick", 2 uses of "boobs". Note: the main kid says 'goddamn' and 'asshole' once.

- There are a couple references to being drunk as well as references to chardonnay & pot.
- Talking to Julian's classmates, Sonny refers to drug usage as "smoking dope", "puffing the cheeba", "go by the see saw & smoke a J", and "doing mushrooms", as well as referring to drinking rum (he is concerned about the type of kids Julian might be hanging around with). This whole scene is comedic.
- The film contains mild drinking and smoking throughout.
- Contains one mild reference to the connection between drinking and acting how you wouldn't normally.
