This cartoon is one of the few times Lennie Weinrib didn't voice Roland and Rattfink.
Some gags were reused from the 1959 Looney Tunes - Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam - cartoon, [Wild and Woolly Hare].
The actual Golden Spike was driven at Promontory Point, Utah Territory, a century earlier. It commemorated the completion of the transcontinental railroad.
The laughing horse gag would also be used in several Pink Panther shorts.
A version of the three headed bad guy was also featured in a Le Inspector cartoon of the era.
