Sex & Nudity

  • Some skimpy clothing, and some veiled sexual references, but nothing major.

Violence & Gore

  • This film is moderately violent.
  • The shark kills many characters in violent ways, including one by decapitation. The dismembered head of the victim is shown a few times.
  • A lot of deaths happen offscreen, but there's mostly just some blood in the aftermath.
  • A seal is killed by the shark offscreen.

Profanity

  • A few damns, hells, and asses, but no 'hard' profanity. An explicit phrase is said in a foreign language, but it isn't translated nor is it readily apparent.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A few people drink and/or smoke and its implied that the character 'Werewolf' does so frequently to help ease his mental problems.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Many characters are frequently put in mortal peril from a creature that is hard to follow because it attacks from hidden areas when the lighting is poor. The experiments that play god may seem frightening to some viewers. The creature itself is also quite threatening in appearance.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • The shark itself falls victim to some acts of violence as well. One of its fingers is cut off, and it gets a deep cut in its chest. The shark explodes at the end.
