Canadian actor Matthew Bennett was already an adult when he decided to pursue an acting career. He made his screen debut in 1991, appearing as Henry in two episodes of Street Justice, an action-adventure starring Carl Weathers alongside Bryan Genesse and Charlene Fernetz. The years that followed saw him appear in dozens of productions, but he had no regular feature until 1999; when he portrayed James Calley in at least 22 episodes of Total Recall 2070, a sci-fi mystery series created by Philip K. Dick and Art Monterastelli. Thereafter, he landed his Cold Squad role which popularized his name in...

Regulars on the Farscape subreddit will already know that Owen Davies has completed his epic AI Remaster Project, releasing all 88 episodes – plus the two-part Peacekeeper Wars miniseries – to YouTube in 4K.
Upscaling the existing Farscape 15th Anniversary Blu-ray footage was undertaken using the commercially available Topaz Video AI software. However, Davies – who works as a Freelance digital designer/multimedia developer – balks at referring to it as a mere “upscale.” A lot of highly technical preparation is done on the Blu-ray footage, such as sharpening the image, correcting the contrast, and retouching the color grading to take it with a breath of a full remaster.
All in all, the process has taken him four to five hours per episode and I challenge you to find fault with the results in this side-by-side comparison video:

As news of a new Blade Runner movie arrives, Ryan wonders whether a worthy sequel or prequel could ever be made…
I'll start by stating the obvious: Blade Runner was a one-off, never-to-be-repeated classic. It was a movie where finances, creative talent and serendipity all came together to produce, not just one of the finest science fiction movies of all time, but one of the most startlingly inventive films ever to come out of Hollywood.
Blade Runner was made at a time when its director was at the height of his creative powers. Fresh from his box office success with Alien, Ridley Scott poured his energies into an adaptation of Philip K Dick's Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep, and he probably hasn't made a film as individual or beautiful to behold since.
The same could be said of Vangelis, whose woozy, eclectic score for Blade Runner is inarguably the...

TORONTO -- Canada's largest performers union, the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists, said Wednesday that veteran actor Karl Pruner has been voted in as president of its Toronto branch for a two-year term, replacing fellow actor Richard Hardacre. Pruner, an ACTRA member for 25 years, most recently took part in negotiations with independent producers on workplace rates and conditions. His film and TV credits include Total Recall 2070, The Elizabeth Smart Story and Dick. ACTRA, representing around 13,000 domestic actors, maintains reciprocal relationships with the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, and members of both Hollywood unions can qualify for ACTRA membership when working in Canada.
