Hugo and Jack discover the cash box is empty for the first time ever, and then discover the accountant is dead. Then the bank manager breaks the news about the state of the business and installs a troubleshooter.
Alan the troubleshooter does is level best to get Hugo and Jack to turn up to work without success. Plus he wants to turn the billiard room into his office. Griselda considers the concept of getting a job.
Griselda as secretary is busy organizing Jack and Hugo's social life. Alan finds a hidden cache of Champagne which he thinks might solve the financial problems with the business.
Hugo and Jack run out of money and Alan can't give them anymore. Reluctantly they have a go at selling wine to the Australian embassy. Alan has acquired 300 cases of polish wine in lieu of debt.
Lady Boughton's marriage is in trouble and turns to Hugo and Jack for advice. Alan has a new strategy for getting Hugo and Jack to attend business meetings.
