Bigfoots or Sasquatches, these creatures that straddle the line between man and beast are a captivating blend of mystery and fascination. Picture cavemen of colossal stature, untouched by the need to shave their skin. That’s your typical bigfoot. These enigmatic beings have also found their way into the spotlight of cinema, becoming iconic movie stars in their own right.
While they may have fewer film representations than their arctic counterparts, the yeti, Bigfoot has left an indelible mark on Hollywood. Whether these creatures were scene stealers or the main attraction, the Sasquatch has carved a unique place in cinema history. Each character brings a distinct perspective to the mythos, from the terrifying and elusive family of beasts in the newly released Sasquatch Sunset to the misunderstood and gentle Mr. Link. They know how to bust a move, look for their own, and fly! Yes, fly.

Exclusive: UTA has signed popular comedy band Wolves of Glendale for representation in all areas.
Founded in 2022, and boasting a sizable following on social media, the band consists of Ethan Edenburg on guitar, Eric Jackowitz on drums and Tom McGovern on keys. They got their start when McGovern moved west, after a long stint playing piano bars in New York, and linked up with Edenburg and Jackowitz, who were searching for the missing piece in their trio. The first day they sat down together, they knew they had something special, as they wrote their hit song, “Vapin’ in Vegas.”
The Wolves took off nine months in when Kyle Gass introduced their tunes to Tenacious D frontman, Jack Black, who instantly took not only to their comedic style, but also to their high-quality musical talent. Black subsequently asked them to open for Tenacious D on New Year’s Eve 2022, in front...

DreamWorks Animation has the best animated franchises, delivering consistently good, theatrically-released franchises that are unique within the animation landscape. One of their best ones is "Kung Fu Panda," a franchise with some of the best fight sequences in animation, and one of the few instances where an all-star stunt voice cast isn't detrimental to the films' quality.
Even if "Kung Fu Panda 4" doesn't reach the heights of the first two films, it still isn't without redeeming qualities. As our own Ethan Anderton wrote in his review for /Film, "This movie still has plenty of ways to entertain, from the eye-popping animated action sequences to Jack Black's pitch-perfect portrayal of Po, not to mention a stellar score from composer Hans Zimmer and his composing partner and collaborator, Steve Mazzaro."
This is a fun movie with a fantastic cast led by Jack Black and Awkwafina, starting what could be a new trilogy in the franchise.

Jack Black and Kyle Gass took over the Kung Fu Panda 4 premiere to film an impromptu music video for Tenacious D’s cover of — wait for it — Britney Spears’ classic, “…Baby One More Time.”
In the clip, Black and Gass strut around the red carpet, doing dance moves and jump-kicking while belting along to the D’s hard rock take on the 1998 pop smash. Black also ropes in a bunch of his Kung Fu Panda 4 castmates, dancing with Awkwafina, karate-chopping Bryan Cranston, and taking a punch from Ke Huy Quan.

Skadoosh! One week after Jack Black and Kyle Gass’ 20-second clip where they animatedly performed “Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears went viral on multiple platforms, the duo — known together as Tenacious D — have put out a longer recording of the song.

Animated film franchises have a way of making you feel old. When you watch live-action movie series featuring your favorite stars over a period of many years, the actors at least have the grace to age along with their audiences. But the characters in animated movies tend to always look the same, as demonstrated by Po, the hero of Kung Fu Panda 4. As still delightfully voiced by Jack Black, he’s exactly the same big, furry lug that he was in the original film, which came out in, gulp, 2008.
Well, he’s a little different. He’s now been the Dragon Warrior for so long that his mentor, Shifu (Dustin Hoffman, sounding more gravelly than ever), orders him to relinquish his title and assume the role of Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace. Po, who’s preoccupied with starting his own noodle restaurant, resists at first, but ultimately...

Eight years after the release of the third film in the Kung Fu Panda franchise, Jack Black is back for a fourth go-around — and this time, he is bringing his musical side to the movie.
Last week, Black posted a cover of Britney Spears’ hit song “Baby One More Time” on his social media, showcasing him singing and dancing alongside Kyle Gass, with whom he performs in their band Tenacious D. The caption simply read “Tenacious B!” but included a panda emoji, suggesting the song would be a part of Kung Fu Panda 4.
At the Los Angeles premiere of the film Sunday, Black told reporters that the cover is featured in the film’s end credits, and that came about when director Mike Mitchell “said, ‘Hey, we would love to have a Tenacious D song for the end credits’ and I was like, ‘Really? Can we do Britney Spears?...

Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny released from Shout! Factory on February 13th, 2024.
Jack Black is among my favorite comedic leading men. The first film I ever reviewed was School of Rock for my high school newspaper. His physical delivery is unmatched, and he’s able to make nearly every character, no matter how absurd, feel relatable and approachable. Despite my adoration for the man, Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny had evaded me for eighteen long years. Now, thanks to the fine folks at Shout! Factory, that’s all changed.

I was twenty-years-old when Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny released to theaters. That’s seemingly the perfect age for an R-rated comedy comprised of utter silliness and rock-and-roll.

Jack Black wants the 'Super Mario Bros. Movie' sequel to be a musical like 'Joker 2'.The 54-year-old actor plays Bowser in the record-breaking blockbuster and he has revealed he would love to reprise the role as Mario's arch-nemesis in a "full musical" titled 'Bowser’s Revenge'.He told Variety: “I don’t like to mix my music and movies, unless they told me at the beginning.“I’m real protective of the Tenacious D side of my career. They sent me a 30-second nugget of an idea, and it was hilarious. So I fleshed it out, added some lyrics and melody, and they loved it. And by God, they put it in the film. I couldn’t believe they did.”Jack added: “I think it should be a full musical, like what Todd Phillips is supposedly doing with ‘Joker 2.’”Chris Pratt, 44, voiced the legendary plumber Mario in the flick.

In an unexpected turn in the streaming sector, Warner Bros. Discovery is reportedly discussing the possibility of licensing some of its original HBO content to competitor Netflix. The strategy diverges from the industry’s recent streaming strategy of hoarding content for their own direct-to-consumer services.
It’s not the first time HBO has explored syndication, with “Curb Your Enthusiasm” airing on TV Guide Network and “Entourage” on Spike. And from 2014 to 2018, HBO licensed shows to Amazon’s Prime Video. Still, it’s been years since an HBO original was available on a service not owned by Warner Bros. Discovery.
The roster of HBO shows potentially heading to Netflix remains undisclosed, but according to recent reports, it includes high-profile titles such as “Insecure.” Until an actual deal is struck, we can only speculate on the HBO shows that align well with Netflix’s content catalog. In the early 2000s, Jack Black was having a moment. Richard Linklater’s School of Rock made him an unlikely leading man, with the film grossing 131 million worldwide. He was in high demand and bankable, so the time was right to finally produce his passion project – a film showcase for his cult two-person band, Tenacious D. The film, Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny would be a big flop, only grossing 13 million worldwide. Still, in the years that followed, the film would become a kind of secret success, doing well on DVD and becoming a cult hit.
Indeed, all involved had good intentions going into this. Black was a massive star and cut his salary from a whopping 12 million to 1 million to get it made, and he would split the fee with his bandmate Kyle Gass. The movie would feature a who’s who of rock star cameos, including Meat Loaf,...

The “Nacho Libre” star began his short and sweet speech joking about all of the films he’s been in: “Are you kidding? Sunday Am Writethru: after Saturday post Before a big tentpole comes into the marketplace, there’s typically a lull at the box office. But it’s an even bigger lull when the major studios don’t have any new wide entries. Everyone is waiting for Warner Bros. The Batman next weekend, and many sources tell me it’s bound easily for a $100M+ opening, in fact $115M+, and the advance ticket sales are there to prove that.
This despite the 3-hour running time, and from what I hear (I haven’t seen it yet) is a more noir, detective story by director Matt Reeves than Christopher Nolan’s previous Dark Knight action-infused movies. iSpot shows Warner Bros. having already spent $28M+ in US TV spots (that’s even a big number from that data agency’s Pov) across such shows as the Winter Olympics, NFL, Good Morning America, NBA games and Big Brother: Celebrity Edition.

Just in case you need a pick-me-up during the week before the election, Tenacious D has you covered with a positively delightful cover of “The Time Warp” from “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” Just in time for Halloween! Watch it above.
Of course, those of you reading this know what we’re talking about — it’s the fourth song in the cult classic movie musical, and the one sung by Riff Raff, Magenta and Columbia just as Brad and Janet have entered Dr. Frank-n-Furter’s creepy castle. The song is a glam rock tribute to the many rock and roll songs about dance crazes and mainly just describes a dance called The Time Warp with very, very easy to follow instructions: Jump to the left, step to the right, put your hands on your hips, bend your knees in time, then pelvic thrust a whole bunch of times.

Is the end nigh for Jack Black? Or more specifically, Jack Black’s film career? I didn’t mean to give the impression he’s faced with some kind of impending doom; though the bread truck comes for us all in the end.
The star’s days on the big screen may well be numbered, and that’s according to the man himself. His newest film, Jumanji: The Next Level could even be his last, if his latest interview with Balance is anything to go by:
“Well, I’ve got another Tenacious D record that I’d like to make. Maybe one more movie. I’m kind of enjoying the idea of early retirement. Not so early. I’m 50. I’ve been saying for a long time that this is the last movie. We’ll see. I can’t really say what my next thing is because it’s too early; it’s a jinxer.

In the most recent episode of Jack Black’s YouTube series, JablinskiGames, Black hit the road in Nashville with Kyle Glass and the rest of the Tenacious D crew. They ended up stopping by the famous Third Man Records where musician Jack White gave them a tour of the studio. They then ended up at Jack White’s house to record a song as Jack Grey.
Black wasn’t able to film the visit, but he did say that it was a “legendary collab”. Black also said that White’s house is as awesome as you’d expect. “His house is crazy, I’ve never seen so many cool antique toys. It’s what you would expect: Jack White’s house is gonna be off the chain. I’m still floating, floating on Cloud 9. I think our song is the kickin’ chicken too — it’s a stone-cold jam.”

Jack Black is already heavily invested in Yahoo, choosing it as the platform on which he will debut his upcoming comedy web series, Ghost Ghirls. During the Cannes Lions festival, Black hinted that he may be doubling down. The actor and comedian commented that he is working on an animated web series starring his rock band, Tenacious D. Though Black didn't say for sure that the series will live on Yahoo, he announced the series while appearing at a panel alongside Yahoo Head of Video Erin McPherson. His Ghost Girls is one of the many star-studded comedy series McPherson touted at Yahoo's Digital Content Newfronts presentation, and it is set to debut (after about a year of anticipation) sometime in the fall. "Video is critical to Yahoo’s mission," McPherson said during the panel. "Video is growing exponentially online...and we’re right there with it." She right. It's growing so fast,...

How much you get out of Rock Of Ages, director Adam Shankman’s adaptation of the 2006 Broadway musical, depends on two things. The first is whether you love the hair metal of the 1980s, represented in the movie by the likes of Poison, Bon Jovi and Twisted Sister, and the second is whether you consider the likes of Mama Mia (2008) and The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert (1994) to be cheese of the easily digestible, light and fluffy Philadelphia variety, rather than hard to swallow, mouldy old Stilton, because Rock Of Ages is essentially Moulin Rouge (2001) with a mullet.
If, like me, you’re a child of the 1980s rock scene (or if you have a familiarity with the scene) then you’ll find yourself grinning every few minutes as the cast sing yet another classic song, whether it be Twisted Sister’s iconic I Wanna Rock, Bon Jovi...

Las Vegas, Nevada (X17online) - Jack Black and his comedy band Tenacious D were forced to stop their concert in Las Vegas Saturday after an audience member was stabbed. After a crowd scuffle on the downstairs level of the Mandalay Bay House of Blues, one man was left bloodied at the knee with a knife wound while another man was carried off into police custody. After the incident, Las Vegas police arrived and treated the situation as a crime seen, pulling people out of the crowd and demanding the band stop playing music. "This is no joke. Due to a serious situation we're shutting it down. We can only play one more song, but we're going to rock it out," front man Jack Black told the disappointed crowd. The victim is expected to make a full recovery, and there will be no further investigation for possible suspects.
