Good fun if you are into Sport

One of the series that was being churned out by the BBC in the early eighties. Ken Wordsworth (Warner) is a sports journalist who after going through a divorce needs a pay rise. He leaves the quality newspaper he writes for and joins a very low market Tabloid. His salary increases as a result and this fuels some legendary drinking sessions in a pub called 'The Inkwell'. Amongst the people he now mixes with is a journalist from another tabloid called Steve Stevens. He proves nothing is too low for a tabloid journalist and will stop at nothing for a story. Each episode was about a different sport - particularly watch out for the horse racing episode. Overall, good fun if you are a sportsbuff, fairly dull if you are not. Well acted - presumably only one series got made because they ran out of different sports to cover !!
