Avalable to English Speaking Audiences

You can now watch this movie on YouTube with English subtitles that are nice and readable by a company called Knitting Needle. I hope the have done other foreign films that need to be subtitled. As for the movie it is a rather talky and thin on action, but nicely shot in widescreen compared with other euro spy movies of the era. The plot is coherent and easy to follow, but as far as the assembled team of thieves who pull off the heist, why did they need the fat sex trafficker whose presents was unclear to me except for some lame comedy relief and the guy and his nurse. All they needed was the main guy and the girl to pull it off.

A dawdler
Leofwine_draca2 April 2022
Less a Eurospy film, more of a heist movie that the Italians enjoyed making in the mid to late 1960s. This one stars former Bond imitator Roger Browne as leader of a crew of robbers planning to get their hands on a large stash of Arab money, to which end an elaborate plan is set into action. Sadly this is an ultra-slow and talky affair with endless planning and tacked-on romance and character development that nobody asked for. It just sort of dawdles along and the heist itself isn't particularly thrilling either.

Warning: Spoilers
Apparently, this film has never been dubbed or subtitled into English, which is unfortunate as it's a constant gabfest. What little action there is is quite perfunctory and the heist is underwhelming. Should someone give this a digital scrubdown and add Anglo subtitles I would give it another chance, but as it stands English-speaking viewers can safely give it a miss.

Only hard to catch and to appreciate...

Warning: Spoilers
Yes, this is a rare item from Italy, shot in the late sixties, when the heist movies were many around. Not only European but also American and certainly from other places. It is a mix up of light thriller and serious crime flick. Not much action, lots of talk, many clichés and predictable sequences. I admit I saw it in Italian spoken copy, and I don't understand Dio Risi's language...

But I followed this film well enough to say that I saw better in this kind of story.

The score itself - the robbery, I mean - is disappointing for me who saw many movies from this time. See for instance SEVEN GOLDEN MEN, or AD OGNI COSTO, directed by Guliano Montaldo, telling a fantastic caper in Rio De Janeiro. And if the characters are lousy, and the story too, let the caper be fantastic; that's the less the audience may deserve. But the overall atmosphere is not charmless. The music score is pure sixties.

Worth for those who like this kind of features.

And I hope that some Italian users will comment this film better than I just did.

A great boredom!

In the first hour nothing happens, just talk. Then, there is an attack of a minibus in an oasis but we do not see the stolen money at all. The rest of the movie, talk again. One of the dumbest movies ever made.
