An overcast June gloom day couldn’t cast a cloudy spell on the gala celebration held June 12 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles for the youth-focused arts nonprofit Everybody Dance LA!
Hosted by Melvin Roberts, anchor of Kttv’s “Good Day L.A.” and a weekend anchor for “Extra,” the event was full of fancy footwork and fevered energy, with kids grabbing honorees and attendees to participate in impromptu flash mobs. That set the tone for an evening filled with fun, inspiration, and gratitude.
Edla was created to honor the memory of Gabriella Axelrod, daughter of Edla founder Liza Bercovici, who died at age 13. Bercovici founded the organization in 1999 as a tribute to Gabriella’s love of dance. Today, Edla offers a range of after-school, in-school, enrichment and summer programs for more than 7,000 students a year. In 2014, the organization was awarded the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award by first lady Michelle Obama.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez are engaged.
The happy news, which sources have confirmed to People and Daily Mail, comes after the couple set sail with sheer extravagance over the weekend, making a grand entrance at Cannes for the famed film festival in Bezos’ opulent $500 million superyacht, per Page Six.
As they vacation in the South of France, the Amazon founder, 59, and the Emmy-winning journalist, 53, were spotted smooching and getting touchy on board the yacht, named Koru. On Sunday, Sánchez was also seen wearing a gigantic diamond on her ring finger — in photos obtained by People and Daily Mail — after Bezos reportedly popped the question while sailing the coastal Mediterranean Sea.

The Walking Dead mid-season finale ended on a shocking note with the death of Jesus, after he was murdered by one of the Whisperers, who’ll take their place as the new main villains of the show when it returns in February. As for actor Tom Payne, who played Jesus, he obviously won’t be returning to the series that he’s been a part of since season 6, but he’s not ruling out a possible guest spot down the road.
How would that be possible though when his character has just snuffed it? Well, Payne pointed out to Good Day L.A. that the sizeable time jump that came after season 9’s fifth episode means that there’s a lot of story to be explored in flashback, which leaves the door open for him to cameo later on.

Kris Jenner sat down with "Good Day L.A." Thursday (Aug. 15) to discuss her self-titled talk show, "Kris," which welcomed her daughter Khloe Kardashian as its Thursday co-host. Naturally, the "Good Day" folks wanted to know if they were going to address the recent allegations that Lamar Odom has been having affairs behind wife Khloe's back.
"No, because it's just, you know, tabloid crap. That's what I call it," says Jenner. "Her and Lamar are so damn cute, and at some point we address really crazy things, but when it's over and over and over ... you just have to say this isn't true, this isn't happening and then you move on."

Just days after the news of her split with mega-creep Jesse James went public, Kat Von D stormed out of the Good Day L.A. studios after learning that host Jillian Reynolds planned to ask some questions about, you guessed it, her split with mega-creep Jesse James. Kat doesn’t seem to get how morning talk shows (or people in general) work. But now she’s back peddling and insisting to TMZ that the show’s anchors broke their word to not mention the split in her introduction.
Kat says she saw her Jesse James-centric intro on the teleprompter and “very politely” asked that it be changed, but nothing was done about it. So when she heard it live on air, she bolted. Good Day L.A. producers are calling Bs, and insist that Kat made no such demands, only requesting the interviewers didn’t discuss former James flames Sandra Bullock...

Two of Jesse James' exes have made media headlines for different reasons. The 42-year-old's ex-wife, Janine Lindemulder, has got into trouble with the law for harassment, while his ex-fiancee Kat Von D was engaged in a Twitter feud with Jillian Barberie of "Good Day L.A.".
Janine was arrested at her home in Texas just two days after Jesse won the sole custody of their daughter, Sunny. The adult film actress was arrested for the same charges back in January, and has been ordered not to harass or annoy her ex-husband upon her release. However, TMZ reported that she called Jesse more than 25 times in the last few days.
Richard Masson, a lawyer for Janine, told E! News that Jesse had an arrest warrant reissued for her when she returned to Texas. On what prompted Jesse to cite her with harassment, Richard explained that Janine left multiple messages on her...

Celebrity tattoo artist Kat Von D axed a Los Angeles TV interview at the last minute on Wednesday after refusing to discuss her broken engagement to Jesse James.
The star was due to promote the new series of her reality show L.A. Ink on breakfast programme Good Day L.A., but she scrapped the chat moments before she was due to go live after learning she would be quizzed about her break-up.
Von D was reportedly angered by producers' decision to introduce her appearance by using a clip from L.A. Ink which featured the former couple at her tattoo shop, where she had a childhood image of James inked onto her skin.
In an angry post on Twitter.com after her walk out, she wrote, "Dear GoodDayLA, thanks for the waste of a perfectly good morning. Lack of compassion n (and) respect for each other never fails to dissapoint (sic) me."
But Von D's actions prompted presenter Jillian Reynolds to hit out at the star for her lack of professionalism and urge her to confront representatives at cable channel TLC, who provided the show footage.
Addressing the situation, Reynolds said, "I would say to you Kat, bring it up with TLC, the company that sent the clip of your reality show with Jesse in it. We were just trying to promote your show... If you're putting your life on a reality show and then you're not willing to talk about it, it seems kind of.... We sympathise that you broke up, but of course we were gonna ask about it, that's the clip that they sent to us."
Von D and James confirmed their split on Tuesday.

According to several sources (and mysterious tweets) singer Pink and her husband Carey Hart are pregnant with their first child.
Good Day L.A. host Jillian Barberie is in a lot of trouble. She tweeted this to Pink:
"Hey, Pink, I'm sooooo happy for you lady!!! Congrats on baby!! Ps. You know your man whispered it to us at dinner. See I Can keep a secret!!"
So far, the 31-year-old singer hasn't responded to the speculation. However, this isn't the first time she's been rumored with a bun in the oven. Earlier this year, she joked that she was carrying "a 600l-lb. baby."

Fox 11 morning show host Steve Edwards accepted the Governor's award at the 62nd Annual L.A. Area Emmy Awards Saturday night with characteristic self-depreciating humor about five decades on the dial in Southern California, the last 15 years as host of "Good Day L.A." "I'm feeling too young for this award," joked Edwards. "I'm just getting started."
But it was Knbc's night to sweep the top Emmy awards for English and Spanish language local news stations in Southern California. KNBC4 won six Emmys alone and one with Spanish station KVEA52. Those included the Emmys for Daily Evening Newscast (Ch.4 News at 11); Daytime Newscast (Ch. 4 News at 5 p.m.), Outstanding Hard News Reporting (Ana Garcia and Fred Momoun), Entertainment Program ("My 1st Time Nominated for an Academy Award") and outstanding news feature (Chuck Henry).
Public TV station Kcet tied for second with five Emmys, along with Ktla, which took best morning show.

The Bible doesn't tell us on what day God created fried chicken, but His Son is sure to love him some crusty breast and thighs. According to Oprah, anyway. What?! Check the clip for all the miraculous details. And while he may not be quite as old as J.C., aging Good Day L.A. anchor Steve Edwards displays the old school charm that Soup fans know and love. Though perhap not Indian Soup fans. Not to worry, Steve later apologizes...for something.

Real estate mogul Donald Trump has stepped up his war of words with Rosie O'Donnell after she made unflattering statements about him on US chat show The View on Wednesday morning. Co-host O'Donnell called Trump a "snake-oil salesman" following his announcement that he would not fire troubled Miss USA Tara Conner. She then went on to talk about alleged extra-marital affairs and discussed Trump's finances, claiming that he went bankrupt - a charge he denies. Trump fired back, telling American publication People that O'Donnell is "a woman out of control" and insisting he would be suing her over her statement questioning his financial well-being. And he appeared on Good Day LA yesterday to fire yet more barbs at O'Donnell. He said, "I think she's very attracted to Miss USA so she probably wanted to put the crown on her head herself... She is a very, very unattractive woman who really is a bully... Rosie is a loser, and ultimately (The View) will fail because of Rosie. Barbara Walters made a mistake and let me tell you something, Barbara's a good friend of mine. She cannot stand Rosie O'Donnell."...
