Sex & Nudity

  • A father discusses with his 15-year-old daughter about sex and losing her virginity.
  • Early in the film over an extended scene, a young boy is shown surrounded by burlesque dancers in revealing costumes. At one point the dancers all take off their robes, and some are wearing pasties over their nipples instead of tops.
  • Several kissing scenes, some are very intimate.
  • A young couple are shown making out. The boy has a hand on the girl's breast, under her top. She is not wearing a bra, although at no point is there any visible nudity. The scene is very brief as the father of the girl interrupts them.
  • Mel Gibson is shirtless on many occasions and in one scene he appears nearly fully nude except for his privates.
  • There is an implied sex scene between Mel and Marisa, although no nudity is shown there is a lot of obscene sexual talk.
  • Many sexual references throughout. In one scene a man and woman talk about his penis.

Violence & Gore

  • A man is purposefully electrocuted by a bolt of lightning while standing in the rain.
  • A man screams in pain after waxing his leg.
  • A woman thinks about committing several times.
  • The a man slips while stepping on scattered beads and falls into a bathtub, where he gets electrocuted with a hair dryer he was holding.

Profanity

  • One half enunciated use of 'f*ck'.
  • 'Sh*t' is said 6 times.
  • 'H*ll' is said several times.
  • '*ss' is said.
  • 'B*tch' is said once.
  • Contains religious exclamations

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A psychiatrist lights and smokes a marijuana cigarette.
  • The main character drinks often s, and gets drunk on two occasions.
  • Minor characters a visible smoking several times.
  • A man and woman have drinks while at a bar.
  • The main character smokes cigarettes many times throughout.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The main character tries to hurt himself, and potentially killing himself, which is difficult to watch.
  • Some emotionally intense moments.
  • Two scenes show the main character being struck by lightening and high voltage electricity, which can be frightening. A later scene including an electrical explosion can also be frightening.
  • But otherwise no frightening or intense scenes
