Aarp The Magazine announced today that Helen Mirren will receive the 2017 Movies for Grownups Career Achievement Award.
The Aarp Movies for Grownups multimedia franchise was established in 2002 to celebrate and encourage filmmaking with unique appeal to movie lovers with a grownup state of mind—and recognize the inspiring artists who make them.
Mirren, an Academy, Golden Globe, Emmy, Tony, BAFTA & Olivier Award-winning actress will receive Movies for Grownups’ highest honor on Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at the Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills. Aarp The Magazine will host the 17th annual Movies for Grownups Awards, where many other awards, including best actor, best actress and best director, will be presented. President Bill Clinton, who designated the memorial as the country’s sole federally-designated National AIDS Memorial in 1996, delivered keynote remarks and spoke to the hope the future holds, while always remembering the precious lives lost to the epidemic.

This year for World AIDS Day, the Elton John AIDS Foundation (Ejaf) has partnered with Kwippit, the new mobile messaging app, to raise awareness about the global AIDS epidemic and dollars for the Foundation’s lifesaving work.

Ahead of World AIDS Day 2017, (Red) – the AIDS organization founded by Bono and Bobby Shriver – announces it has delivered a total of $500 million to The Global Fund, to fund HIV/AIDS programs in sub-Saharan Africa.
Since (Red)’s founding in 2006, the money raised through special events and campaigns led by more than 100 private sector partners, supporters and creative collaborators has benefited the lives of 110 million people through treatment, prevention, testing, counseling and care services.
