If you were among those who at last month’s Comic-Con saw the 20-minute “drama presentation” that sold ABC on Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, you basically laid witness to the first half of the new series’ premiere.
After Alice breaks out of the asylum into which her father had her committed, “We’re going to actually go [back] into Wonderland” in that first episode, cocreator Eddy Kitsis explained Sunday at the Television Critics Assoc. press tour in Beverly Hills. There, “You are going to meet Jafar (played by Lost‘s Naveen Andrews), get more of the Red Queen (Emma Rigby...

I saw the Twilight marathon last night. I saw all five movies of the saga and furiously wrote down my thoughts in real time for you to read. I am not a Twilight fan, I haven’t read the books and up until last night had not seen any of the films. (Okay, okay, I saw the Breaking Dawn – Part 1, but I wasn’t paying attention and I didn’t know who was who or what was going on. So I’m saying it doesn’t count.) I’m not some kind of cynic ready to tear Twilight a new one. I love almost any movie I see in the theaters. I almost wept when Cher sang “You Haven’t Seen The Last Of Me” in Burlesque when I saw it opening night, so yeah, I am not a hard sell when it comes to the magic of the movies.

Versatile producer and director who made Prime Suspect an enduring success
Paul Marcus, who has died of cancer aged 56, was best known for his award-winning work as producer of the television series Prime Suspect. However, most of his career was devoted to directing, for theatre and cinema, as well as for TV.
The first series of the police drama Prime Suspect, written by Lynda La Plante and following Dci Jane Tennison (played by Helen Mirren) as she led her first major murder investigation, was aired by Granada TV in 1991, to wide acclaim. Marcus was asked by Granada to take over as producer on the second series. He bravely invited an unknown director, John Strickland, to oversee the drama, but his choice proved justified, with Prime Suspect 2 matching the success of the first series and receiving an International Emmy award as well as Bafta recognition.

As fellow Vampire Diaries fan and blogger Emma Frazer tweeted to me earlier today, it seemed like ages had passed before a new Tvd episode fell in our lap. However, that sentiment went out the window after watching tonight's episode, which kept up the tour de force pace before it went on hiatus. New developments, cliffhangers, and turned tables were on the forefront tonight, setting us up for next week's midseason finale which is sure to drive us fans insane until the new episodes of next year. So let's get to the recap!
Unusual Ingredients
As Elena is in her bed, Jonas Martin stalks the house and accidently wakes her up. Elena finds Alaric and Jenna in a compromising position while searching for the source of the noise, thinking it was them. While talking to the couple, Jonas steals hair, a picture of Elena, some trinkets, and a mirror from...

Bid Videos and Hellcats
Marti rolls out of bed, right onto Dan. Seems Savannah is falling right into a relationship with Dan and Marti lays down some rules for Dan staying over. Dan prepares Savannah a real ‘Irish’ breakfast and he talks to her about how the team can spice up their bid video. She invites him to practice to watch and maybe give some pointers on how they can spice things up. The cuteness factor between the two is getting a bit much.
Marti arrives for cheer practice a bit late, which gets her the eye from Savannah, who’s going through the routine as Dan watches from the sidelines. Alice and Savannah get into it over Dan giving some pointers in what the video should include. Alice tells him to get out, only to get into a rather personal back and forth fight with Savannah and calling for...

Resident Evil Poster*This post has been written by blogger and arts aficionado Ed Sum. More details on Ed can be found in the Profile section of this site.
The fans demanded it, and now, director Paul Anderson delivers a Resident Evil film that is supposedly more faithful to the video games of the same name. However, there is one particular question which really has to be asked about this franchise. Is Resident Evil even about the zombies anymore? This film felt more like The Matrix!
Author Max Brooks have given meaning to what an out of control virus can do, and even suggested what the next step is. It is time to simply gather the survivors and find a haven that the zombies can't reach. However, this film is not "Z-Day," the anthem for the "Post Zombie Apocalypse," a play created by Bring Back Pluto Productions—man's best friend...

After drawing out the casting process to the speed of your average tectonic plate, Bryan Singer has finally opened up about X-Men: First Class. After Alice Eve was mistakenly touted as Emma Frost and Aaron Johnson was incorrectly linked to the role of Scott Summers, coherent confirmation was required from someone in the know.
In a conversation with Aint It Cool News‘ Harry Knowles, Singer discussed the story, casting choices and setting in depth. Most importantly, however, the producer made it clear that the film will not follow the comic-of-the-same-name’s continuity, which already goes some way to explaining the casting inconsistencies debated across the interweb to date.
In terms of story, the film will follow the early relationship between Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr, the former with hair and the ability to walk. With filming commencing at Oxford University, the 1960s setting’s civil rights movement will foreshadow the...

Lots of actors make a movie or attempt to headline a television show, fail, and then vanish into obscurity. Maybe they resign themselves to character roles or bit parts, or they say "I'm going to concentrate on my family." It's noble, but time and time again we've seen these types burst back onto the public radar courtesy of a breakthrough role in a television series or film. Below is the first part of a list of the ones we think are the best and have since had the longest lasting impact. Feel free to suggest additions.

Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle - Neil Patrick Harris
Granted, that poster was actually for the second Harold & Kumar movie, but the fact remains: that brief cameo in the stoner flick Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle gave Neil Patrick Harris an unprecedented bounce-back. After his child-star role in Doogie Howser, M.D.
