I was glad that she changed her mind and got the courage to call the number that her concerned teacher Mr. Bacharan had given her. What this person told Julia over the phone empowered her to open her mom's eyes to how badly she had been behaving toward her daughter.
Julia was also the heroine as the lead character she played in Randy Forrester's film "The Lie." She confronts the liar, Rena, telling her that no matter how much damage her lies have created, that she would not be able to "change the truth with words."
But what disappointed me was that there were no scenes in this movie where Julia had apologized to Katie for yelling at her when she kept interrupting during the movie rehearsal at her house. But at least she recognized how bad things had become when her mom told her the story about the cracked plate.
When her mom had took this plate to the fireplace and shattered it, a wall between her and Julia was finally broken. The best part was when Julia smiled at her mom and said two truly deserved kind words."Nice shot."
Julia and her mom both gained courage in the end. Finally, the love that Julia had tried to earn from her mom was revealed!
