Taylor Swift, reuniting with LL Cool J to co-host the Grammy Nominations Concert Wednesday night (Sept. 5), might not have conquered all musical genres yet.
Welcoming the hip-hop actor to "her town," Nashville, T-Swizzle beatboxed while he sang "Mean." Fortunately, their performance was short: there were plenty of acts and even a few nominations to follow. The co-host herself scored a nod (Record of the Year for "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together Again") -- but Fun. led the night with nominations in all the major categories.
Here's what went down in Music City:
First act: The Band Perry and Dierks Bentley perform Johnny Cash's "Jackson."
Pop Vocal Album nominees (presented in song by Hunter Hayes):
Kelly Clarkson, "Stronger"
Florence + The Machine, "Ceremonials"
Fun., "Some Nights"
Maroon 5, "Overexposed"
Pink, "The Truth About Love"
Second act: Maroon 5 performs a medley of "One More Night," "Moves Like Jagger...

Sheryl Crow spent yesterday on the beach in Hawaii with her kids Levi and Wyatt, and boyfriend Doyle Bramhall II. Sheryl wore a bikini while splashing around in the ocean with her boys and chatting with friends on the sand. She just celebrated her 50th birthday this month, and in honor of the milestone, she held a Birthday Drive to raise money for The Delta Children Home. Sheryl's philanthropic outreach will continue in April, when she participates in the Country Music Marathon in support of the New Hope Academy. It will be a busy month for the star, since both of her sons were born in April. Wyatt's turning 5 and Levi turns 2 this year. View Slideshow ›...

We already know President Obama likes to listen to (and occasionally sing) Al Green songs. And he's told us that his iPod has a bit of Jay-z and Lil Wayne on it. But with the toughest re-election campaign of his career on the horizon, what music will Obama 2012 be using to pump up crowds at rallies?
Judging by a playlist uploaded to Spotify this week, it looks like a cheerful, noncontroversial mix of classic rock, country, soul and R&B, but, alas, no hip-hop.
Instead, in a clear bid to appeal to the broad middle, Obama chose songs by beloved soul acts like Booker T. & the Mg's ("Green Onions"), Earth Wind & Fire ("Got to Get You Into My Life"), The Impressions ("Keep on Pushing") and, yes, Green (the pleading...

Mark Twain might best be remembered for his writings about life on the Mississippi River, featuring his most famous character Huck Finn. When Twain died over 100 years ago, he probably never would have imagined some of the world’s most renowned actors, musicians, authors and entertainers would come together to celebrate his life.
That celebration resulted in a new double-cd set that is burning up the charts and is particularly unique for bringing together personalities like best-selling author and rock star Jimmy Buffett; nine-time Grammy winner Sheryl Crow; multiple Academy Award-winning film director and star Clint Eastwood; best-selling author and radio host Garrison Keillor; and a Who’s Who of Country and Bluegrass music legends including Vince Gill, Brad Paisley, Carl Jackson, Ricky Skaggs, Emmylou Harris, Joe Diffie and more.

Some of the Grammy Awards predictions of our forums' moderator Darrin "DoubleD" Dortch have been included in earlier blog posts that pitted his views against David "Guru" Shnelwar's while they forecasted the victors of the Grammy record, song, album and new artist of the year categories. Now let's look at each pundit's Grammy predictions on a solo basis. Here are DoubleD's noodlings on the top races.
Album Of The Year
Favorite – "Raising Sand," Robert Plant & Alison Krauss
Possible – "Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends," Coldplay
Robert Plant never won a Grammy while with Led Zeppelin, and he has only two Grammys to date. Krauss is a Grammy favorite (and a past winner here for the "O Brother" soundtrack) and "Raising Sand" got fantastic reviews, so I think Plant/Krauss will easily prevail here. If they lose, it’ll be to Coldplay, which will surely win multiple Grammys this year.

"Tha Carter III"? Not even close. Try "Tha Carter VIII."
New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne, who is on track to have the best-selling album of 2008, also leads the nominations for the 51st annual Grammy Awards with eight, including album of the year for "Tha Carter III."
Right on his heels is British rock quartet Coldplay with seven, including album of the year. The band's "Viva la Vida" was released a week after "Tha Carter," and the two controlled the top two spots of the Billboard 200 for five weeks in the summer.
Jay-z and Kanye West grabbed six noms each, as did Ne-Yo, including album of the year for "Year of the Gentleman."
"When I was putting (the album) together, I was trying to do something that more people would enjoy besides my pop and R&B core," Ne-Yo said. "I wanted to do something the whole world could enjoy."
