Kenneth Williams recalled this play in his 1985 autobiography "Just Williams". Intrigued about his casting, Williams remembered:
"When I met the director I asked him what had made him think of me. He replied, 'All the other actors I wanted were unavailable and the producer said when in doubt get a comic.' He may not have been flattering but he was certainly forthright."

This play was broadcast at short notice after the originally scheduled programme, The Bone Yard (1966), was postponed, allegedly due to legal concerns.
