Kurt Russell has played a lot of memorable characters throughout his career, and one character definitely near the top of the list would have to be Snake Plissken. Russell's Plissken made his big screen debut in "Escape From New York," John Carpenter's sci-fi action movie set in the futuristic year 1988. In Carpenter's film, the island of Manhattan has been converted into a giant maximum security prison. Convicts are sent to New York and forced to fend for themselves, living in the cut-off city and joining various gangs, all of whom seem to be at war with each other. When the President of the United States ends up crashing in New York after Air Force One is hijacked, the government calls in Snake Plissken to save the day.

Call of Duty has added several twists and turns to its multiplayer over the years. Some became beloved, some abandoned. Gamers may be wondering what Black Ops Gulf War (unconfirmed title) has in store for them, as it is probably on its way. It will rumoredly feature open-combat missions like Modern Warfare 3, and if that’s the case, players may seek a better experience in multiplayer.
Recently, some fans chose to pick up on previous entries in the series and highlighted the poor integration of AI. Although such things have the potential to detract from the overall experience, it is highly unlikely that they will, given how far gaming has come since those games were released. Beyond that, however, gamers may be considering which of the game modes Treyarch ought to revive in the upcoming title. Here are our picks:.

Mama June’s Sister, Doe Doe Sends Cryptic Call For Prayers
The tension is so thick between Mama June Shannon and her big sister, Doe Doe Shannon. For years, Doe Doe was there for her nieces when June was unavailable or gallivanting around. More so, she was a surrogate grandmother for Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird’s children and made sure they had everything they needed. There was one point where she was seen dropping off a whole trunkload full of baby necessities. June was nowhere in sight.

If you grew up anywhere within the New York TV viewing radius in the Eighties, you probably remember the commercials advertising the Poconos’ “beautiful Mount Airy Lodge.” Fantastic Cat sure do.
The band’s new video for “All My Fault” is rich in shameless cheese — and gloriously fun. Structured around a video-dating-for-singles conceit in Pennsylvania’s mountain playground, the clip casts all four members of Fantastic Cat — Anthony D’Amato, Don Dilego, Brian Dunne, and Mike Montali — as hapless dudes looking for a connection. It doesn’t go well.

English band Broadcast will release two new demo collections in 2024: Spell Blanket – Collected Demos 2006-2009 (out May 3rd) and Distant Call – Collected Demos 2000-2006 (out September 28th).

Now, Cargill is unearthing dozens of demos collected over a 10-year span. According to a press release, Spell Blanket comprises of “songs and sketches” from Trish’s “extensive archive of 4-track tapes and MiniDiscs” that would have eventually served as Broadcast’s fifth album.
Distant Call, on the other hand, comprises of early demos that eventually would appear on their albums Haha Sound, Tender Buttons, and The Future Crayon. One of the most memorable horror blockbusters in recent memory was director John Krasinski's "A Quiet Place." It remains impressive that the guy who played Jim on "The Office" crafted such a refreshing film (with lots of help from screenwriters Scott Beck and Bryan Woods) that has spawned an entire franchise. What tends to happen in the realm of horror is that a string of imitators will follow any major success. Well, the time has finally come as "Arcadian" has unquestionably taken more than a little inspiration from Krasinski's 2018 thriller. That said, this is far more than just a cheap imitation. Moreover, it serves as a showcase for one of our most compelling living actors: Nicolas Cage.
"Arcadian" recently screened at SXSW in Austin, Texas, and I was lucky enough to catch the film. Directed by Benjamin Brewer ("The Trust") and written by Michael Nilon ("Braven"), it's certainly not...

Former President Donald Trump sparked controversy following a declaration to withdraw federal funding from public schools enforcing vaccine mandates during a rally in Richmond, Virginia.
Political and medical officials were quick to respond to the former president’s statement.

Barbara Comstock (R-Virginia) wrote on X. “Like most states, Virginia requires the Mmr vaccine, chickenpox vaccine, polio, etc. So Trump would take millions in federal funds away from all Virginia public schools.”

We’re barely seconds into Jurassic Triangle when three nameless individuals run past something odd, a pile of logs, a tarp and what looks like a gas-powered garden tiller. Why would that be odd? Because they’re trapped on an uncharted island that’s overrun with dinosaurs and other strange creatures, not the kind of place you can run off to Peavy Mart for some gardening supplies, or hang around long enough to plant a garden for that matter.
The hapless trio quickly become dinner for the dinos, and we cut to Drew is waking up from a nightmare and remembering he’s on a helicopter with Issac, Beth and their pilot Captain “Call me Andy” Rawson.

Jeff Zucker and Gerry Cardinale’s RedBird Imi has finalized a £1.15 billion ($1.45 billion) deal to acquire production powerhouse All3Media — the largest TV producer in the U.K. and the company behind such shows as reality series Squid Game: The Challenge and films like World War I epic 1917 — from owners Warner Bros. Discovery and John Malone’s cable and telecom giant Liberty Global.
The deal gives the new owner control over a big production business across scripted and unscripted series as well as theatrical movie titles. Earlier this year, RedBird Imi acquired a stake in Media Res, the studio behind the Apple TV+ shows The Morning Show and Pachinko, among other projects, which was founded by former HBO executive Michael Ellenberg.
Launched in late 2022 with a $1 billion war chest backed by RedBird Capital and Abu Dhabi’s Imi, RedBird Imi has the mandate to pursue investments in the news, entertainment and sports sectors.

Bigg Boss Ott 2 Winner Elvish Yadav Slaps A Man, Video Goes Viral (Picture Credit: Instagram)
Elvish Yadav and his systummm are back in the news again. This time for slapping a man in a restaurant in Jaipur. A video from last night is going viral on the internet where Elvish can be seen slapping a man, making an exit, and coming back to slap him further. What happened, however, is open to speculation.
People on the internet are saying that the guy who was slapped first asked for a selfie and then started abusing Elvish’s mother. Some speculate that after taking the selfie, he did so; others speculate he was abused as he was denied a selfie.
Whatever version holds truth, the internet agrees on one thing – slapping a person in public was not the coolest option, and people are demanding legal action against Elvish Yadav for physical assault.

This article contains spoilers for Masters of the Air episode 3.
One needn’t be a World War II expert to understand that the global conflict was a violent one. Even a cursory glance at casualty statistics on Wikipedia reveals some eye-popping numbers: 61 million total (military and civilian) lives lost for the Allies, 120 million gone for the Axis, and countless more affected in ways we could never begin imagine. All in all, roughly 3% of the world’s 1940 population is believed to have perished during the war.
In telling the story of the United States’ involvement in World War II via miniseries Band of Brothers and The Pacific, producers Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, and Gary Goetzman successfully captured the dread, doom, and death that pervaded the time period. With the most recent episode of their third effort Masters of the Air, however, they’ve truly outdone themselves.

Anil Kapoor’s Fighting Spirit: On Four Decades of Film, the ‘Slumdog’ Effect, and One Heck of a Year
Anil Kapoor still gets meetings he can trace back to “Slumdog Millionaire.”
Chatting with IndieWire shortly after the premiere of Viacom18’s “Fighter,” the Indian actor is one of the rare global stars to enjoy “crossover success” — a buzzy term that, these days, seems to mean less crossing over and more crossing back-and-forth. Indian film stars, once compelled to journey West to Hollywood, now enjoy rich storytelling opportunities at home that also exist abroad. Between “Fighter,” “Animal,” a remake of “The Night Manager,” and daughter Rhea’s TIFF premiere, Kapoor’s last 12 months demonstrate the diversity of projects available for Indian actors today — though he still gets the most worldwide acknowledgement for “Slumdog.”
“I get really surprised sometimes at the kind of people who still know me, still remember me, and want to work with me. It’s still continuing,” Kapoor told IndieWire. “As a matter of fact, I insist...

Among the titans of the Indian film industry, his forte was the grand epic that brought various phases of the subcontinent’s history – ancient, medieval, and early modern – to vivid life and enabled him to use his booming baritone, which even drew blind people to cinema theatres just to hear his grandiloquence.
Be it as the Rajput nobleman Sangram Singh in “Pukar” (1931) set in the times of Mughal Emperor Jahangir, Raja Porus in “Sikandar” (1941), in the title role of the Parmar king in “Prithvi Vallabh” (1943), as the Rajguru of Rani Lakkshmibai in “Jhansi ki Rani” (1952), or the bitter persecuted Jew Ezra in “Yahudi” (1958), Sohrab Modi strode the silver screen with his imposing presence, boundless histrionic abilities, and thunderous voice.
He delivered a trailblasing performance as a kind and rational man turned domestic tyrant – and twice over- in “Jailor”, made first in 1938 and remade in 1958, with totally different casts save him in the title role.

In her new memoir, former Andrew Cuomo aide Melissa DeRosa recalls a plot by Donald Trump to prank Cuomo’s younger brother, CNN anchor Chris Cuomo.
DeRosa’s book, What’s Left Unsaid: My Life at the Center of Power, Politics & Crisis, came out on October 24. DeRosa details a prank that the former president and former governor of New York tried to play on the reporter.
During a dinner at the Oval Office, Trump suggested that he and Andrew prank call Chris.
According to DeRosa, Andrew tried to dodge the joke by reminding Trump that his phone had been taken, per security protocol, and that he believed Chris to be “busy” at that moment.
“Oh, come on, it would be so funny!” Trump allegedly pushed Andrew.
The former president finally gave up, saying, “Ok, fine. But, it would have been fun.”
DeRosa remembers that “the whole thing felt like I was having an out-of-body experience.

(Updated with SAG-AFTRA tweet) After over a week of silence, the actors union and the AMPTP are now set to return to negotiations on Tuesday, October 24.
“SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP will meet for bargaining on Tuesday, October 24 at SAG-AFTRA Plaza. Several executives from AMPTP member companies will be in attendance,” read a statement today from SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP.
That means, similar to the final days of the WGA talks and this previous round of SAG-AFTRA talks, that the CEO gang of four will be in the room next week. Disney’s Bob Iger, Warner Bros Discovery’s David Zaslav, Netflix’s Ted Sarandos and NBCUniversal’s Donna Langley, have been participating in efforts to close an agreement with the actors union for the past several weeks.
In fact, it was the studio bosses who asked the Guild for the talks to restart, we hear — an offer that was accepted in short order.

With more than 7M viewers on ABC, the matchup is now the 11th this season to surpass the 7M milestone. That’s more than all of last season, when only 10 games had the honor.
The previous games to hit this milestone include Oklahoma-Texas and Alabama-Texas A&m in Week 6; USC-Colorado in Week 5; Colorado-Oregon and Ohio State-Notre Dame in Week 4; Colorado State-Colorado in Week 3; Texas-Alabama and Nebraska-Colorado in Week 2; Fsu-Lsu and Colorado-tcu in Week 1.
Notre Dame’s win over USC came in a close second with 6.43M viewers on NBC. Those were by far the most-watched games of the week, seeing as the third place spot went to Texas A&m vs. Tennessee with just 4.38M viewers on CBS.

Heidi Klum and her 19-year-old daughter, Leni Klum, shared new Instagram photos of both wearing lingerie.
Heidi posed in a satin two-piece set, with her daughter standing beside her in a fuschia lace set. The duo was promoting the Italian lingerie company Intimissimi, for which they are the spokespeople.
Some fans took issue with Heidi posing with her daughter in little clothing.
“I would not be proud to show my daughter off in this way,” one user wrote. “I would feel embarrassed and sad.”
Another chimed in, saying, “It’s weird to see mother and daughter in underwear. I mean, how many were photographed like this with their mother.”
Other followers supported the campaign, writing that the Klums were a “gorgeous family.”
This isn’t the first time the duo have posed together in lingerie. Back in May, they posed in similar mother-daughter shots, which provoked the ire of fans as well.

Writers rooms for NBC’s Chicago trio of Fire, Med and Pd, as well as Law & Order and its spinoff, Svu, and CBS’ FBI, Most Wanted and International are all reopening this week. New showrunners have also been installed for Chicago Fire, with Andrea Newman now running the room for season 12 and Wolf veteran Matt Olmstead taking over FBI: International. Law & Order spinoff Organized Crime continues its search for a new showrunner and will not be among the Wolf shows that are expected to be among the first to return on NBC once the SAG-AFTRA strike concludes.

Curtain call!
Only Murders In the Building Season 3 Episode 10 concluded the latest murder mystery as the trio figured out the circumstances surrounding Ben's death, while Oliver got the musical he'd always dreamed of.
Even if the previous episode had all but confirmed who the killer was, a twist was to be expected in this episode, and a twist they delivered.
The season finale tied together all the major plot points, gave several conflicts the resolution they deserved, and teased Only Murders in the Building Season 4's murder mystery.
Only Murders in the Building Season 3 had been an ode to motherhood and sacrifices mothers make for their children, and who better to showcase that than Donna?
Donna narrated the episode, explaining some of her greatest achievements as a producer, but her best production was Cliff, even if she didn't admit it.
She was enamored with him when the doctors placed him in her hands.
