Partie de tric-trac (1895), is another Lumière film, produced in 1895, that probably wasn't released to paying audiences, until early 1896. It kept the 1895 tag, because it was shown to a test audience that year. This film depicts the Lumiere family and friends, playing a game of Backgammon (tric-trac), with other guests watching intensely. Partie de tric-trac (1895), is a pleasant depiction of 19th century gaming, with hilarious results. The scene is framed perfectly, with all the faces of the participants, clearly visible and balanced in the shot. The pioneers of film, especially the Lumiere's, had the craft of filmmaking, down very well, during this first year of motion pictures.
