Transport "Whitney" Leaving Dock (1898)
This early film from Edison pretty much shows you exactly what the title says. The camera is placed on the dock and for around forty seconds we see the Whitney ship pulling away from the dock. If you're a fan of these older movies then you already know that they didn't really feature any sort of plot or character development. They basically just showed us a moment in time and looking at these films today it's quite interesting to see them. I can't imagine what anyone filming would think about someone watching their work 118 years after it was made. Again, there's nothing ground-breaking here but it's interesting to watch.
