Advance of Kansas Volunteers at Caloocan (1899)

Edison short taking advantage of the Spanish-American war craze. The film, running a short 44-seconds, has the camera looking at some Filipino soldiers who are firing away when an American troop enters the frame and takes them over. This is a very impressive short from this era that film buffs should really enjoy. There's not too much going on considering the time but what's here is pretty impressive in terms of what we see and the action carried out. I was impressed with the shots being fired at the camera and the way the American troops enter the frame was also well done and in some ways way ahead of its time.
