The first computer animated film presented in 3D by IMAX and Intel.
It was first IMAX film to have a PG rating (some language from the "Antz" and "Simpsons" segments)
It never got a VHS, DVD, or any home media release of any kind, despite its box office success.
It was premiered at the Universal Citywalk IMAX Theater on October 1, 2000.
Since 2019, the film served as a joint venture between Universal Pictures and the Walt Disney Company, after acquiring DreamWorks Animation and 20th Century Fox respectively. Universal handles the North and South American distribution rights, while Disney handles the international rights.
