not his greatest singing effort
I watched this cause it's meatloaf and I was disappointed by his performance, sitting on that bench chewing on a piece of gum constantly. What redeems it was the instrumentals. The music was brilliant and the piano and guitar solos, variations from the original compositions, beautiful. I really enjoyed this performances version of 'bat out of hell' but the song was marred for me by a shockingly disastrous out of tune final note sung by meatloaf, utterly the wrong choice of note to finish on. I would recommend this to meatloaf fans and non fans, Jim Steinman's music certainly was a masterpiece. This proves what some people have said, that meatloaf's voice lost some of it's potency as he lot the weight, or it could just be him ageing or the effects of the years of drug use.
