It's been said that Rory Gilmore had the right boyfriend for the right time in her life.
If that's true, then Logan Huntzberger is meant to be the voice that helps guide Rory through making decisions about her future and what she truly wants out of life.
Rory and Logan's love story didn't start with cautious glances or an intense love triangle. When casual hookups stopped being enough for them, Rory and Logan surprised everyone by making it work as a couple...
...and they certainly did make it work.
Through ups and down that included stealing a yacht, a cliff-jumping accident gone awry, the loss of millions of dollars, and a pack of vicious bridesmaids, Rory and Logan weathered the storms with maturity, always coming back to one another, despite glaring indications that they should not from both of their parents.
Logan was never afraid to tell Rory when she was acting childish,...

The party's over for Harry Hamlin and Lisa Rinna, who took to Instagram on Monday morning to apologize for a swastika T-shirt that Hamlin wore as part of his Halloween costume.
Hamlin, 64, and Rinna, 52, attended Casamigos tequila party on Friday night wearing a couples costume inspired by a 1978 photo of Sex Pistols bassist and punk rock icon Sid Vicious and his girlfriend Nancy Spungen.
After an uproar arose this weekend over the shirt's anti-Semitic imagery, Rinna issued a joint mea culpa on social media: "If I hurt you we were being authentic to the characters of Sid and Nancy for our Halloween costumes.

The party's over for "The View" and more of its advertisers -- Party City, Snuggle and McCormick spices all decided to yank advertising in the wake of the Miss America/nursing controversy. The companies followed the lead of Johnson & Johnson and Eggland's Best which pulled their spots from the ABC show on Thursday. McCormick, a Fortune 1000 company, replied on Facebook to an upset consumer, "Like you, we also value and admire nurses, so we have...

Aw sookie sookie now! The tagline for Mad Men's final seven episodes reads, "The Party's Over," but a new trailer suggests it's actually in full swing. It's the '70s baby. Diana Ross's sultry "Love Hangover" provides the background for a summer Hamptons get-together, and the gang's all there. Peggy (Elisabeth Moss) is looking better than ever - and is Pete Campbell (Vincent Kartheiser) suddenly noticing her again? Remember he is the father of the child she gave up for adoption back in season 1; plus, he's divorced now, so … (It would be interesting if that came back full circle.

The final season of Man Men is almost upon us and to send off the series in style, AMC has released new (and groovy!) season seven trailer featuring Don Draper (John Hamm), Peggy Olsen (Elisabeth Moss), and all of your favorite Sterling Cooper & Partners associates.
Photos: Take a Look Back at Mad Men's Season 6 Photos!
As always, the trailer does not reveal any specific plot points — Mad Men always keeps their secrets extremely close to the vest — but the teaser, entitled, "The Party's Over," does feature our cast dressed in their finest in their late-’60s possibly early-’70s duds.
Press play on the Man Mad trailer above and let Diana Ross' 1976 hit "Love Hangover" as you scroll through these gorgeous and far-out promo photos of the cast. When we last left the gang, it was July 1969 -- so does this mean we'll be time-jumping...

Polly Bergen: Actress on Richard Nixon's 'enemies list' (image: Polly Bergen publicity shot ca. late 1950s) (See previous article: "Polly Bergen Movies: First U.S. Woman President.") As discussed in the previous post, despite its deceptively progressive premise — the first United States woman president as a palpable reality — Kisses for My President, written by veteran Paramount screenwriter Claude Binyon (Search for Beauty, The Gilded Lily) and newcomer Robert G. Kane (whose sole other movie credit was the poorly received Arnold Schwarzenegger comedy Western Villain), was an unabashedly reactionary, "traditional family values" effort. Ironically, Polly Bergen, for her part, was a liberal-minded, politically active Democrat. At around the time Kisses for My President was released, Bergen, along with Gregory Peck, James Garner, and other Hollywood personalities, publicly came out against California's Proposition 14, a 1964 ballot initiative that would have nullified the Rumford Fair Housing Act, thus paving the way for...

Tha Doggfather adds, "I can't stop. Making bottles pop until the wheels go out. I can't quit. I wake up in the morning do the same sh*t."
Mr. Dogg told press that he "felt like I was in an action movie" due to the fact that the video was shot in Asia. "For me, it was awesome, because I've always wanted to be in a martial arts movie.”

In our definitive ranking of Batman's cinematic outings this week, Digital Spy put Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins at number one. I could lie and say that we agonised over its placement, but in fact the decision was almost unanimous among the staffers who had a say in the list.
Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy is unquestionably the greatest comic book saga on screen, but the expanded scope and sweep of the later instalments comes at a cost. The Dark Knight and its sequel become more about the mask than the man behind it, and for that reason they've stood the test of time marginally less well than the focused and intimate Batman Begins. Strange as it may sound, what makes Nolan's dark, cerebral origin story the best Batman movie of all time is the fact that it really isn't one.

New Orleans socialite Mickey Easterling wasn't going to let a little old thing like death get in the way of attending a party in her honor. Which is why she attended her wake, all dolled up with a boa and fancy hat, and propped up at the front of the room with a glass of champagne in hand. Mickey died on April 14 ("Her family declined to release her age, noting she once said, 'Age is a number, and mine's unlisted.'") and a thousand mourners were present during a final "jazzy soiree" at the Saenger Theater, where Mickey was, as usual, the center of attention. "It's a really nice way to say, 'The party's over.'" her daughter Nanci Myke Easterling told New...

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. To everything, there is a season. But platitudes don't adequately sum up the roiling mix of emotions we feel as we rejoin the ladies (accompanied by their husbands, sans Albert Manzo) at the Borgata for the last time tonight. Nothing — besides perhaps the disturbing and relentless Oranging of Andy Cohen — signifies the final installment of the three-part Rhonj reunion and subsequent end of season four more than this telling survey graphic. The party's over, folks. When asked, Juicy Joe* conveniently can't remember exactly what he said in Napa about the Guidices' deal with In Touch. His bare chest is featured in a montage. You ever notice that his torso kind of resembles the puffy grotesquerie of, say, Vince Vaughn's face? He also doesn't seem worried about his law trouble: “There's an old saying, a lawyer once said: You could indict a ham...

If Only Fools And Horses had started in the 21st century, it wouldn't have lasted for more than two series.
Let me explain. Back in the early 1980s, a brand new sitcom was written by John Sullivan, charting the misadventures of a wayward Peckham family, the Trotters. Three generations were spanned in a poky flat, which was part of Nelson Mandela House. The problem was that, when it first went out in 1981, the ratings were deemed to be on the low side. A second series went ahead, but even then, the ratings were not deemed world-shattering. If that had happened today, the show would have been axed quicker than you could shout “Mange Tout!” That's the price you pay for being with a ratings-hungry broadcaster, full of media-savvy trendies with buzzwords and balance sheets.
But luckily, a repeat season was to prove to be Only Fools And Horses' salvation. This time around,...

It's the week of the great Oscars comedown, and even the winners must have a bittersweet feeling that they are unlikely to scale such heights again
Well, Oscar weekend has come and gone, and for British film reviewers there can hardly be anything left to say. But this hasn't stopped us all haranguing the Academy for its failings and errors of taste, just as that famous West Cork newspaper fearlessly addressed the tsar of Russia in 1899: "The Skibbereen Eagle has its eye on you!"
For critics, this is the week of the Oscars comedown: the great post-awards season hangover: a sense of nausea and surfeit and anticlimax. Having in many cases stayed up all night, and then put together our final reports on the night's outcome, reviewers now return to work in the knowledge that all the really strong Hollywood films have been released for the Oscars, and what...

Less than a month after the wedding of Prince William and Kate (now Catherine) Middleton, the newlyweds have returned home from their honeymoon -- thus ending ways for us to talk about their nuptials.
Us Weekly reports the two are back in Wales after a 10-day stay in the island nation of Seychelles, a trip that reportedly set them back $720,000.
"The people of Seychelles are truly honored that Prince William and his wife chose to return to Seychelles for this special holiday," says Seychelles minister of foreign affairs Jean-Paul Adam in a statement. "We are proud to have been able to offer them a peaceful and private getaway."
The palace echoed the Seychelles sentiment, saying the duo "thoroughly enjoyed their time together, and they are grateful to the Seychelles government for their assistance in making the honeymoon such a memorable and special 10 days."

Isabelle Huppert is superb as a colonial farmer ignoring the mounting tensions around her in Claire Denis's fine return to Africa
From one of the very first shots of Maria Vial, it's clear she is clinging on for dear life. She's played with sinewy determination by Isabelle Huppert, an actress at her formidable best when making her audience sympathise with a morally conflicted character, and at the start of White Material, she hitches a ride on one of those overloaded African taxi vans by hanging on to the ladder at the back, the veins in her arms throbbing, her face set boldly against the onrushing wind.
We discover later that this scene actually comes near the end of the film's narrative. Maria goes into a flashback, one that fills us in on the chaos of the opening which has seen her, in a pink summer dress, crouching in burnt fields,...

"Sex and the City 2" is a ghastly mess, a stake in the heart of the great TV series that ran from 1998 to 2004. This second "Satc" movie (I liked the first one) is misconceived on every level. Consider:
1. After opening with the usual helicopter footage of New York skyscrapers (Look, there's the Chrysler Building!), this very long picture decamps for what seems like half an hour to a gay wedding in Connecticut, complete with glittery male choir and a Liza Minnelli (!) dance number, which nearly sinks the film on its own. It then decamps even farther to Abu Dhabi, of all places, where there's no sex and, for the story's purposes, no city either. This is where most of the movie takes place.

The party's over. Lindsay Lohan was ordered by a Beverly Hills judge on Monday to wear a alcohol monitoring device and also to submit to weekly random drug testing. If Lohan doesn’t comply with the order, she could face serious jail time. That's the kind of ruling that casts a serious pall over her hard partying lifestyle. Yet again, of course, Lohan was ten minutes late to court and according to onlookers looked scared out of her mind. According to her lawyer, who was pleading that the star could not possibly wear the monitoring device, Lohan had several photo shoots scheduled and a movie coming up in Texas. But the judge ignored the request and ruled that Lohan was not allowed to leave the state of California. Lohan is now free on $100,000 bail pending a July 6 probation-violation hearing. If she’s found in violation, Lohan could face jail time.
